Beav, you interior detail work and all that scratch work is quite impressive. Well-done!

Justin, that big old 4-engine bird is coming along nicely.

Johnny, decals a really dressing that jet up. Stencils, lots of stencils? Oh my.

Toshi, I enjoyed your comparison of airbrushes, and your masking was very colorful! Smile And you camo is coming along nicely.

Toshi, Johnny, CMK, Bish, Gamera; Thank you for taking the time to comment on my progress.

The first of many decaling sessions. There is a ton of stencils

stencils are a very tedious job.  I know you are a master at stenciling and I look forward to learning from you.

Looking good Toshi!  But don't rush too fast at this stage!  All that work, you don't want to have any paint problems!   --only speaking from experience--

Thank you sir.  No I won't be rushing on this job anytime soon nor will I in the near future.  I thank you for having my back and watching out for me.

You are correct, I'd hate to rush a process just to get to the next level.  Especially as you so correctly noted, any paint problems.

Bish

Toshi, really coming together now, looking really nice.

Thank you Bish!  This project is moving along much better than I expected.  I've really enjoyed this build and I have so much more to go. It brings me great joy to share my build on this GB.

Greg: Looks great! You've done a better job on those teeny-tiny PE parts than I ever could.

Steve: I have no idea what all those aftermarket bumps and thingees do but they look cool.

Toshi: She's coming along great! Too humid here to airbrush, the paint simply won't dry. Hopefully I'll get some done this weekend too.

TJ: Nice seeing her almost done. Guessing it's the tiny stenciling left to go?

Eric, looking forward to seeing what ever you come up with. I've been trying black baseing for a while, for me it turns out ok on lighter colours such as the light blue on undersides, but not so wel under darker colours. Hope you manage to pull it off.

Judging on the calamity suffered during the "Channel Dash" it's probably lucky that the Stringbag was able to win kudos when attacking targets without air cover. There was Taranto and the Bismarck of course. As I understand it, many of the RN CVEs that arrived in late 43 flew Stringbags and did well against U-Boats. Needless to say, the RN was also quite pleased to receive Avengers for front line work.

It isn't cheap, but I've heard that the Tamiya Swordfish is a stunning kit - and big. That kit and their Storch are two I've heard a very good modeler say everyone should build. I've picked up some of the new tool Tamiya armor (Panther D, SU-76 and M-10) and they're all super (individual links available for extra). That company continues to amaze.

Eric

OH: the RAAF Beaufighter was an earlier model and conversion is tough: anyway, whichever I pick will be RAF or RAF Coastal Command. I'd like to try this black basing stuff, and one of the two night fighters has dark gray/green camo - Doog on YTube has just done a long show on that combination.

A model boat is much cheaper than a real one and won't sink with you in it.

Very impressive decal work, tj.  Excellent.

Greg:  what a neat IP!  levers look great and so does the PE.  Well done.

Lancaster is looking pretty menacing, Justin.  What a large explosive it has!

Toshi:  looks like it's all coming together now; nice paintwork.

Thank you sir.  The paint work is slowly coming together.

Greg

I'm a page or so behind in replying, but real quick, Toshi, that Mosquito is looking good all sea-greyed up.

Also, I'm surprised that Tamiya's masks are not pre-cut.

Thank you sir, it's greatly appreciated.  Yes, it's interesting that the masks are not pre-cut but hence it's as so.

Today, I utilized my NEO for Iwata Trigger AB TRN1 for the primer of which was the Tamiya Grey Surface Laquer Primer.  It has a wider pattern in spraying surface plus it's easy on my wrist as it's a trigger brush.

I then went with my NEO for Iwata N4500 Gravity Feed AB.  This AB was used for the Medium Sea Gray Tamiya 2 AS-32.

Then finally, the camoflauge was done with Iwata Eclipse HP-CS.  I tried all of my different Iwata AB to see the differences in weight balance, spray pattern, ease of use, ease of cleaning, and trigger action.  I thought that the Eclipse would out shine all categories mentioned if not more.

Although the Eclipse felt better in my hand and had a more balanced performance, both NEO's not only did their performance well but was not that far behind the Eclipse.  This tells me that Iwata equipment as far as AB are concerned are well made precision equipment.

Below is the outcome of the different Iwata AB.  Which was my favorite?  I have to say that each AB did their performance well for each specific jobs.  I loved them all and would not part with them yet I think in the very near future, I will purchase (With the permission of Mrs. Toshi) one of the high end Microns.  I will say Iwata is my favorite AB.

I have tried the Harder and Steenbeck AB and loved the feel of them but my preference is definitely leaned toward Iwata AB.

Quick update on my 1:48 Eduard Tiffy.

Little scratched levers mounted, assy waiting for dull coat and some selective gloss. Or not.....

Macros of PE panels look funny.

And some PE ready for a few final touches and then eager to try Stynylrez as a PE primer for the first time.

The PE seat was my first and was sort of interesting.

Awsome, a reason to build the Stringbag.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.
