Attn: Again, I have never scratch-built anything. After a few days in the sun and then getting my garden ready to plant my chili and spaghetti fixins, I have returned to the "workbench". I am hoping, like an old house, a new coat of paint will make it look nice. I was able to glue the sluice gate detail onto the front of the dam last night and apply a coat of plaster this morning.  I'll let that plaster dry for a while so I can sand shape and smooth the dam in preparation for paint and weathering.  Once that is finished, I will begin the water effects...

Toshi, your build has inspired me to look for a Mossie at Scalefest next month (that's Saturday 3 June, Grapevine Convention Center, Grapevine TX.). It will be in the display case friendly, divine scale (1/72) however.

Justin, the base you're building is most interesting. I look forward to watching it come together.

Greg,  it's not to scale, and it's only a short section of it, but I am aiming for a good representation of the Möhne dam in the Ruhr valley, as a bit of research showed that most of the other dams were pretty nondistinct in their design, and, as a plus, the Möhne was actually breached during the raid, known as Operation Chastise.

Here is where I got by the end of this evening....

I got some base coat on the water and trimmed down the top edge of the dam .  I also began carving the sluice gates visible on the Möhne dam. ...

I am in the midst of another busy cub scout weekend....it's graduation weekend, I can't wait for the "time off" .....but I am squeezing out some construction!

Toshi, i know this is a larger scale, but that is still some seriously impressive work there. All that kit in the cockpit loks just outstanding. You have really done yourself proud with this one.

But of course now you have set the bar this high, you know what that means

I'm with you there. I'm looking at buld and trying to decide if i have time to squeeze in one.

I already have plans for a follow on GB just so i can do more British stuff. Will be looking forward to seeing that dam when you can.
