You're making me want to take to that Meng 106 I have stashed away, but it wouldn't fit in here.

Here's the latest on my AC Cobra, it's ready for the main assembly. The photoetched wire wheels actually look OK and weren't too bad to assemble. the etch for this kit is etched stainless steel I think. It's that metal they used when photoetched material first became available for this hobby, and was impossibly hard to cut and file. Anyway, I'm getting there with this one.

Cheers

Great finishes guys!

I don't normally build cars, but I would definitely make an exception for that kit GMorrison, I've always loved that version of the Batmobile.

Like the others have said that Hurricane is perfect for a boy's ceiling Stik, reminds me of a simpler time.

68 I agree with Stik about the orange flight suit, definitely adds to the visual interest

Your 6s are looking good 68. I really like the orange flight suit, a great touch!

Nice job on the Huricane.

Nothing glorious here just sanding and filling on the 6s.

Thanks Tony. I had a ceiling full of planes also when I was a boy.

That's just perfect for a little boy's room Stik, nice effort. I like the sentiment behind it too. I had a bedroom full of planes hanging from the ceiling way back then.

Ok, all last parts glued on and touch up paint done. Aside from perhaps another dose of Solvaset on the wing roundels, I am calling this one done. A long way from awesome or perfect, but good enough for a little boy’s room.

I can see the lad's stary eyes now Stik! I'm sure he'll love it!

Thanks CB. I’m sure he’ll love it. I’ll get some more photos of this up later on today.

That’s a sharp looking little car there Tony! I look forward to seeing how it turns out...

As for my first, it is almost done now. Most everything glued in place and decals are on...

The landing gear even retracts! Although I did not melt the wheel axles to allow them to roll.... boy did this bring back some memories...

That looks great GM, it's always good to see another car model here.

Here are a couple of progress shots for my 1/43 AC Cobra. I stripped all the chrome and I'm currently working on re-doing it on a whole lot of tiny parts.

Cheers

Yup you bet! In fact I still have to glue in the tail lights.

I bought this model the week George Barris died.

It is the car that the original Batmobile was built from. That is a hard model to find.

I have until the 6th next month to finish the Avanti, in order to get made.

I used Tamiya Pearl White, plus a bunch of coats of Future.

The tires are solid styrene, had to mask and paint the whitewalls.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Very nice! Do you think you can get me a plain background shot for the front page honor roll?

Is this the car that the TV Batmobile was made from?

I'm calling this one done. It was a pretty simple build, but fun to paint and detail.

I've got the main parts primed. There was a lot of clean up for such a small model. Te ejection pin marks were all in obvious and awkward places, mold seams around every part of the chassis and suspension, but it looks like it's got a reasonable level of detail.

One of the reasons I'm building this is to help with the decision about whether I like 1/43 enough to keep the remaining kits in my stash, or whether I sell them and build cars in other scales. Mainly I build 1/24, with a few other scales thrown is because I can't resist :)

I've just sprayed the body silver and the chassis semi gloss black, but they're wet.

Cheers

cbaltrin that's some crazy good masking on the cowling!

I put a small amout of paint in the cockpit of the Do335 the other day, but things have been put on hold.  I was admitted to the hospital Friday night for acute kidney failure, and I'll be here for at least the next week.  So at least I can live vicariously and watch you guys

Wow, I am sorry to hear that silentbob. We will be praying for your recovery!

Thank you very much, I appreciate it!

68GT, nice looking 106's. Wish we had better shots of those pilots--looks like some nice work there!

I'm not sure if theyre worthy of it or not.  I'm not much of a figure guy and just did a paint with a wash.  One day I might get better at it if my patience ever improves.

The one with the pilot in orange is going to wear 539th FIS from McGuire AFB and I'm probably going to have the bomb bay open with falcons and a genie.  The one with the green pilot is going to be ready for take off with either 119th FIS (old flash) or 186th FIS markings

Nice! Are you going to do anything different between the two aside from markings?

I’d stick with the Sky... I can’t see Azure on a P-47. Especially from the 78th.

Ok, I am heading into the final stretch with the Thunderbolt. Primed it with Mr Color Surfacer 1500 (black) a day or so ago and layed down RAF Sky green on the undersides. Now I read an article the other days where a 78th FG pilot was claiming the undersides of birds with field applied cammo where not sky green, but azure blue! Well sorry, I just can't bring myself to do that. Took my long enough to warmp up to sky green so sky green it's going to be!
