This group build is an annual event.  It was started back in 2008 and has been an annual thing since then, always around the middle of November through Christmas.  It started out as a one weekend only, but has morphed into several weekends now.  There has been talk of a spring or summer edition, but no one has ever done it.  What do you win for answering the challenge? A completed model of course, some extra room in the stash, and a really cool badge if you collect those kind of things.  Which reminds me, if any of you have mad computer skills, we'll need a badge. Calvin and Hobbes themed please.

I'd like to see if I could get one in again this year. I may be on the move around that time though. I should know next month if they want me on the lung transplant list in which case I would be relocating to Dallas right around mid to late November. 

I was going to make my usual smart a-- remark about building a Revell 1/350 Bismarck or something, but not this time. If I can, I'll do my usual 1/72 armor of some make and model.

Might have to keep my finger on the pulse of this one. I've been around here for quite some time and have never seen the possibility of me pulling on of these off. But, now I might be able to pull off one of the 1/144 aircraft kits I've acquired recently.

I have a few ideas... several choices in my stash..,

I will have to pass on this one. Besides, the last GB I participated in, I never got my badge?

For those that have said they could do it, I've started a roster.  For those on the fence, you've got time.  For those that have said they can't, stay subscibed and watch the fun.  We may seduce you like the dark side.  To those comments about building a large model. Even though I recommended against it, don't let that stop you.  I have been overly ambitious in the past, and even though I failed I had a lot of fun.

Gerhard, sorry you'll have to pass. As for the badge, there have been no restrictions on getting it.  I don't recall having a badge last year.  I would say take a trip back to when you joined us and grab it, however it was probably stored on someone's photo bucket page and is now inaccessible.  

This is my first GB and I have a few questions. First, are there any restrictions on the type (scale,subject) of the kit? And second, are there any specific pics I need?

Looking forward to this, should be a lot of fun.

No restrictions on this GB as long as it can be completed in 48 hours.

Take a pic of the not started kit with prof of the time like a cel phone or tablet in the background. Progress pics along the way, again some timestamp would be nice for these. and completed pics with a timestamp. It can be of any scale or subject.

Hmmm... I'm a pretty slow/methodical builder.  But why not, I'll give it a try!  Count me IN.

There are no restrictions on kits, level of detail, etc.  You can build whatever your heart desires, as long as it's done in 48 hours.  All that is required is that the kit hasn't been started, and you post a picture of the kit with some sort of time and date stamp before you start and when you finish.  Most group builds will allow kits you've already started, not this one. While not required, post pics as you go along. It gives us something to look at while we're in between steps or waiting for paint to dry.  Also, they allow us to encourage one another throughout the build and ask questions.  Hope this helps and welcome aboard!  Just remember time is not on your side in this build and can get away from you in a hurry if you're not careful.

Thanks, I was thinking of building a 1/72 or 1/35 tank. This will be an interesting challange as my builds usualy take several weeks to months.

I have two 1/72 aircraft that look pretty easy.

I would like to throw my hat in the ring.

1/35 scale motorcycle with sidecar and figures.

My only concern is paint drying time. I usually let stuff sit for a couple of days ..... before I put my "thumb print on it.

OOPPS ! Scratch that. Apperently I painted half of it when I put it into storage 10 years ago.

So it's a tossup between a Monogram 1926 Mack tank truck or a plane of some sort.
