A lot of these B-24's were lost on the 1st Aug as the 98th BG was one of those which tok part in the Polesti raid. Off 177 aircraft 53 were destroyed and 55 damaged. 660 aircrew were lost, 440 killed and 220 captured.

Crown - Whichever one you don't do, might be interested in aquiring the rest of the decal sheet to do the other one, just have to grab a kit.  Then would have both the 17 and 24 in the same scale.

Would also help in Bish's thought of the entire clan being done.  The GB is long enough to be able to do both.

Awesome...who ever decides they want to do it, just PM me and I'll get your address.  Like I said, you can have them.  It would be cool to see it in the GB for sure.  Here are some more pics of the decals for you.  I'm using the top ones, so the set I would send would be the bottom ones.  Also, I took a pic of the instructions so you can see the placement of the decals and a bit of history on the plane.

Wow!  That was a nasty place to bomb!  AA, fighters, low level...good night.  Those are the guys who MUCH respect is due!  Nerves of steal to go do that.  I thank them all for their service!

Crown - When you get done with your build, if you want to dispose of the decals for the other, let me know.  I'd do "The Witch" as a second build.

RIK-  That is a very nice clean build.  Your paint work is flat out beautiful.

How about a PV-1 Ventura? I have the 1/72 Minicraft kit but with the 'P' designation would it still qualify, even though they did perform bombing missions?

I shouldn't do this but but me down for either a italeri 1/72 B-58 or a Academy 1/144 B-47.   Modern bombers are acceptable right?

Says any bomber aircraft, any conflict.  I saw a BUFF "H" on the front page. so you should be OK.  But then again I'm not the hosts.

I think the PV-1 would be fine. If i understand it directly, the P refers to it being a patrol bomber. So rather than being sent out to bomb a certain target, it bombed targets as and when it found it. But its still dropping bombs.

Any aircraft from the dawn of flight till now that dropped freefall bombs are 100%  :-)

The Ventura is a good one aswell, as Bish states the "P" was for patroll designation however it did drop bombs, just like the PBY "black cat" Catalina witch would also qualify for this GB.

Roster will be updated

it's about 16 inches (40cm) long.   not to bad really,  not as big as the 1/48 monogram version,  I have 2 of those in the stash.

That puts it close to a Vulcan, thought it might be about that size. Ye, i bet those 48th kits will take up some space.

WOOT! WOOT!  We can get started!

Of course my decal curse hits again.  LOL!  As I'm putting the original decals in my decal folder...I notice the new decals do not have the national insignia with them!  Sooooo, I researched it and found Sprue Brothers has a set from Yellow Wing Decals.  Me and my decal woahs.  LOL!

Anyway, here she is.  I've said it a lot, but I'm excited about doing one of the Mono monsters.  Been a while and I'm ready!!!

Does that one have Shep Paine's Poka Dot assembly ship booklet or is at in the 24J box, or do they even include it anymore?
