I also made some progress on the Tempest. I got the invasion stripes down, and will mask them tonight and hopefully get it into paint tomorrow. I realized there's a gap in the horizontal stabilizer I need to fill first, but it shouldn't be too big. Well, nothing on this plane is too big, really.

Bish

Will do BD, you have me intrigued.

Oh it's nothing special, but I was trying to spare your feelings. I got started on it the other day.

This one should build up quickly.

Bish!

I want to add another. I got a freebie, and it's 1/72 and British. No. 145 Squadron WWII from Hasegawa.

Let's just say it's a "British Airplane Mk.VIII."

Thanks, guys. I am thinking I'll go stripes. Because apparently I hate myself.

Oh wow, neat! No idea how you should paint her, but she'll look great either way.

Bish, can I add this dumb Impulse buy? It's the Minicraft 1/144 Tempest Mk.V.

Untitled

Fuselage went together...not so well. Took a fair amount of sanding to eradicagte the seam. And the cockpit is just a little box, but you'll never see any detail when the canopy s added, so...

Ran into huge issues with aligning the wings. Ended up just torquing the tail assembly to make the stabilizers, which are a singl epiece that passes through the fuselage, align with the wing.

Untitled

So now the question - do I do the 1944 bird with the invasion stripes, or do I just do the postwar bird with the standard camo scheme simple because it's less masking?

Here are a few progress pics of the Jaguar. I have a bit of touch up to do in a few spots but the painting is mostly done. I will check back in with decals. I am trying to decide if I should do mild panel line wash or just leave it pure white.

I still have not found that Hawk kit but I am doing a 1/72 Frog Boston for the 'Bomber GB'. Can I cross-enter that in the meantime?

Troy: Both of those look fantastic!!!

Great to see you making good progress. Sorry to report I'm bogged down here- everyone went on vacation/holiday at the same time so I've been working a boatload of extra hours. Plus between my dad's health and the humidity I haven't felt like doing much of anything modeling wise lately...

As noted in a post from a couple of days ago, I have ceased receiving any posts from this GB nor the Commonwealth GB that I am also subscribed to. I've checked "Email Notifications" and it says I am not subscribed to any forums. However, under "Forum Topics" everything is listed. Toward the end of the Forum list there is a technical assistance forum. As I understand it, other modelers are having the same problem. I urge everyone that's having trouble to make a post there. As everything was going fine for me on this forum until about a week ago (and yes I subscribed) and then halted, it's got to be glitch on their end. For me the Group Build Forum is basically crippled. It's nuts to make people manually check all messages themselves. As I understand it, Facebook hosts a multitude of modeling sites. Although the idea is a bad one, if Finescale can't get their act together, I'll have to start using them. Eric

CN - really nice work on the Gladiator, you don't see that many of them built up so well.

Troy, the Meteors really caught my eye. I think I'm going to have to do one too soon.

Cheers

Tony
