Bobby, same thing happened to me. You have to clear your cookies and I got back on. Going on incognito mode works too.

I think I got it.  Thanks PJ!

Alright, I'm lovin this GB and the work is awesome!  Keep up the great work everyone!

I think I have the log on issue fixed so here are some proggress pics for you.  I'm just going to post all I have now.  The kit is better then I remember...of course my skills are a bit better then back then too.  LOL!  Anyway, the build is going very well and I'm really enjoying this GB!  Enjoy!

I got an email from Keyda last night.....she is caught up in the login issue.  Has tried several search options and computers.  She is keeping up with the GB, but won't be able to respond until they get it fixed.

Good to know, thanks GH.

I must say, it's a mystery how I figured it out, I kinda blunder into solutions on the computer sometimes and then wonder what I did. Sorta like when I touch something and the screen turns upside down, Waaaaat!

I tried all the suggestions and I still cannot log in on Chrome.  Edge and IE seems to work fine.

My wife and I share an Amazon account and while I was snooping around in it, came across a purchase for a "Dakota".

Hmmm, guess what I'm getting for Christmas?

Come on FSM, stop trying to fix what's not broken, this is getting to be ridiculous.

Got busy with a couple of comissions but managed to squeeze some work here. The kit has the big loading door that was filled in and one window needs to be cut out  so that will be next.

Since no one else can log on, I'll risk speaking for the rest. I'ts looking good PJ Yes, looks like some work to cut out the window, fill the door and rescribe.

Thanks Steve. I just don't get why it's taking so long for FSM to fix this problem which is getting to be irritating.

Keyda e-mailed me to let me know she can't get on. She is going to email me her updates until this is fixed. If anyone else needs just use my public email in my bio and send me what you want to say along with pictures and I'll take care of it.

I work from 2pm to midnight so I can only post when I get home or in the morning when I get up, but I am willing to help if I can.

I do have an update from her which I'll put up when I get home.

Hey!  I was finally able to log on!  Man was that getting frustrating!  I'll try to get caught up here.  I do have to say it's been a good evening.  The A&P mechanic for Whiskey 7 is impressed with my build so far.Big SmileI was hoping I was paying enough attention to things.  I some times have a bad habit of over looking things.  So I'm quite happy he approves, lol.

Eagle90, Looking good!  I didn't land up using any of the radio stuff, Whiskey doesn't have it, lol.  I bet it was a bugger to paint all those seat belts too!

Thanks gregbale!

Thanks for popping in goldhammer, and modelcrazy.  Appreciate it!  It was driving me bat crazy to be able to read and not respond!

scottrc, No peeking!  Lol.  I know what I'm getting too, it has to do with Whiskey 7, but I'm not telling yet.  Wink

plasticjunkie, Glad you were able to get started!  I've done more cutting on this kit than any other one before, and it's not fun.  Looks good!

GMorrison, Yep I'm back!  Lol.  What a fiasco.

Okay, I'll be back with some updates in a bit, have to get the pictures organized!

Hopefully I get this in the right order, lol.  This might be a bit of a large post, I have 2 updates to put up!  I'm just glad to be back!

Update #1 Should of been added Sunday 12/9

Cut out the flaps for PE.  Which I'm not looking forward to, but I thought it would add so much more detail.

Landing gear painted, will be dirtied up some later on.

In progress with the seats.  I landed up using material, round styrene and PE cargo seats, and seat belts for an H-21 Flying Banana.  I modified the seat back slightly by removing the top piece of webbing, then glueing a piece of fabric to the top so it had a wider upper panel.

Test fit with the seats.

Can't seem to get the pictures uploaded to Imgur for the second update, Grrr.  It's always something!  Oh well.  At least I can log on now!

Since Imgur is being a jerk, I'm going to give Tinypic a try.  Seems a bit on the slower side, and I don't care much for the set up, but it will have to do for now!

Had to add some windows in the fuselage on both sides.  I'm not a fan of cutting holes, lol.  Can't see it to well in the pic, but Whiskey also has a light on the left side of the fuselage right under the little window.  I drilled a hole, and added a piece of round styrene from the lefts over box.  I'll paint it silver and put clear glue over.

Seats done and installed on the right side.

The last that will be seen of the interior!

The fuse closed up, and the wings glued in place.  I'm going to be doing a lot of putty, sand repeat.  My biggest concern with that is losing the raised detail.  I've got a few different ideas of how to replace it.

Hi all,

Here's my first post since D Day.

The first thing I like to do with these RoG kits is to modify the end opening box. I tape the corners and cut the top to be a flap.

Here's what's inside. I've built a few of these before- it's a very nice little kit.

As far as progress, I've printed up my decals. They will take a little love because the resolution is not great and the background around the type is silver, but I've got time to work on them (replace if needed).

I'm planning to finish her in Alclad 2 Airframe Aluminum, much like the art on the box.

Her name is "Betsy", and a member of my family was Cathay Pacific's stewardess no. 6.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Trying to figure out a new image hosting site, without much success, lol.

I use Fotki. It costs $25 a year, which is something, but no ads, no Russian girls who want to marry my Visa card, and pretty easy to use.

Always nice when there is a story behind it!  That's why I chose Whiskey 7.  It will be the only model in the house that I can say I flew on the real life one, lol.

Figured out a back up image hosting site for now.  I'm telling you, if it's not one thing it's another!  Such is life.

Great to see some activity on this thread, it's been dead just about anywhere on this site.

GM you have the same kit as me but with a different box art and decals. It looks like a very decent kit. I too will be using Alclad and white gloss enamel for the colors.

Keyda try using Post Image. It's free, easy to use and has no junk pop ups.

I'll have to give it a try.  I usually don't have any problems with Imgur, but it decided to be a jerk, lol.  Don't care much for Tiny pic, but I guess it will do in a pinch.

Finally making progress on my 1/144 Aer Lingus DC-3. I'm using the Minicraft kit since I had one. I need to tryout one of thosr Rodan kits though. I was able to find what I believe will be an accpetable green this weekend, so I should be done with this one in no time then on to the 1/72 kit.

Really looking forward to this build, just have to clear a few small things off the bench before starting. But given my lack of discipline...let's just open the box and look at it!

The kit looks very nice, crisp molding, good detail. The some of the control surfaces have a cross-hatching texture, not sure if it's to simulate fabric, but I'm going to tone it down a bit with some sanding.

kg4kpg, Nice start, I'm sure you'll be done with that one in no time!  I like the color scheme you are going for.

UnwaryPaladin, I would think the cross hatch pattern is indeed intended to look like fabric.  The Monogram kit I have is like that as well.  I opened the box and looked at things several times before the GB even started, lol.

A bit of a setback.  I didn't like my alclad finish so dropped the little DC3 in to Testors ELO (which I have had success with before).  I suppose the super thin plastic at this scale maybe had something to do with it, but when I pulled it out and went to hit it with a tooth brush is broke apart like a Hershey bar.  Thinking shelf of doom crash scene for this one...

But not to worry - I have two of these little gems and 30 minutes of assembly and back in businesss :)

Thanks,

John

Regular Julia Child you are. Make the pie, and pull a cooked one out of the oven.

Good save. I've got a photo of a Cathay Pacific DC-3 with an extra wing strapped under the belly.
