Sorry guys, I've been sleeping on the floor after work for too long.  I realize the deadline is looming for the GB (as well as others I've committed to), so I got off my duff and resumed work on the 8-ton halftrack.

You know when I built one of these back in 1977 or so, I don't remember all the fit issues I am having now.  It has been kind of frustrating getting things more or less aligned and in their proper place.  And those ejector pin marks!  OK, I do remember the ones behind the flak shields, but not any of the others, of which there are quite a bit.

I have since scraped the filler down and the second round of filler has been applied.

Time to sort through the Eduard PE and "pick-n-choose" what I'll be using.  I'm going minimalist here - the screens for the fold down gates and the checkerplate for the cab floor and fenders are in, a lot of the tiny metal origami stuff are out.

I've got an apology too. I've been terribly slow in posting my photos of the Airfix 1/76 Panzer IV that I built for this GB, not did I post the WIP photos. Here they all are.

I just finished reading through this entire thread after an obviously extended forum absence.  I am impressed by all the work I have seen thusfar, excellent job! 

My apologies to all, between life and other higher priority projects for show season, and a horibly botched white paint job on the Wiesel, it has been a shelf queen for 9 months.  I do have the goal of still completing it by 1/1.

As a side, one of my show projects was the DML 1/35 Ersatz M10...nothing like a little OD on a German themed GB!  I'll upload pictures when I figure out where to establish a new account, since Photobucker decided to be a bunch of knobs and capped my account.

Very nice work there Bish. Its always nice to see something from the Polish or French campaign. That 251 looks great with the dust weathering and the figures look very nice too.

Don't stress about making the finish line. With all that is going on for me I just started last week. If there is still interest I will extend it 6 months or so.

Dunno if I'll finish in time or not. I finished the black camo on my Leopard 2 but still need to add the brown splotches. And I'm going on vacation/holiday for two weeks so I won't be able to get back to her until late November.

Hello everyone, I was on a vacation in the Netherlands for the past four months and am now living there. I am getting settled in and just finished my SSGB M41(my first model in this country). I have been catching up with the past few months of posts and I think that everything is as it should be. However, my only computer is now a phone so I may have missed something. If your model did not make it onto the roster or gallery please point it out and I will remedy it as soon as possible.

I think Sailing Dutchman said something about moving to the Netherlands or a long extended vacation/holiday there and not having any internet access. I didn't quite get the whole thing but I don't think he's updating this GB anymore.

Welp, sat down Sat. and did a marathon painting session with the new airbrush. One of the things I got done was the base coat on the Leopard 2. Did some pre-shading and just a little colour modulation. Not sure if you can tell from the photo, it was overcast all Sunday. 

Hoping I'll still be able to hit the end-date or at least reasonably close. So next couple of days I'll be applying the Silly Putty as mask for the camo pattern. 

Oh cool thanks! I picked up one of those leaf punches but haven't gotten a chance to use it yet. Hoping to on my M1A2 Abrams.

Hey Dutch!  I haven't forgotten about this GB!  Had to shut down the bench for a few months while family members temporarily moved in but now the model assembly line is back in production!

First I have to say what a great number of builds that have been completed!  Just had time to review Bish's Sk.Kfz 251, Zvezda's Wirbelwind and AA's King Tiger!  Great work all!

I've finally decided on my entry.  I was reminded by a friend/coworker that I had not built this kit:

I received it as a gift from same coworker back in 2012 and just never got around to building it.  She gently reminded me that I promised to build it and send them pics when done, so there you are!  Please enter this as my build for the GB. 

Progress will be slow at first as I will be working out of town this week, but I'm bringing the kit with me to start the tedious work on those far too many roadwheels!

Alright, calling the King Tiger DONE!  Added a commander figure from an older Tamiya model, plus a commander's cupola MG from the spares box, and some weathering and camouflage touches.  Dutchman, you can use either the first or last image of this group for the cover photo.  Thanks!

Thanks Gamera. Ye, there is not much differance in the shape between this and the more common Ausf C. It is nice to have these early vehicles to build, my stash is full of C's and D's, so i am really glad to have this on the shelf.

That's really cool Bish!!! I wouldn't have noticed it as an early model 251 till I looked more closely at the front. Nice to see something a little different. And nice work there on the base and the figures too! 

Got the 251 wrapped up last night so time for the final pics. But first a few of the finished vehcile before i fitted it to the base. Final touches were to add all the last parts, some AK dust effects folowed by a flat coat and some pigments.

And then onto the base along with the figures. I also put the rest of the soldiers equipment onto the rails. Despite this being the most figures i have put into a 35th dio, i wanted to keep it compact.

My info on Polish uniforms is none, so i just went with what i could find online and am hoping its ok. Really pleased with this kit, can deffinetly recomend it and will be getting more. This is 251 number 6 on the completed list and really glad to have it.

Thanks for hosting the GB and allwing me to enter this hear. I am hoping to get to a Tiger I before the end of the year, if so i'll add that to the list. Please use which ever pic you like for the front page.

Can't believe its been 2 weeks, but now seeing this coming together. Final parts were added and the inside masked ready for painting.

Next came the paint, decals and a very light dry brush. The kit supplies markings for vehicles in France, Greece and Russia, but i wanted to do one in the Polish campaign. Photo's are few and far between, so i made an assumption. I used the markings for a 1st Pz Div vehicle in France 1940 and simply switched the national markings for the French campign with decals from my /6 for the Polish campaign crosses.

And then a pin wash which gives a nice start for the dusty look i want.

Just got to get the tools wheels, tracks and other bits added and then the final dusting. Next pics should be the final ones.
