Star Wars GB Ep IV
Posted by Bish on Saturday, April 6, 2019 2:04 PM

And now its time for the 4th instalment of the Star Wars Group Build, the 3rd hosted by my good self. For those who have been here before, you know the drill. For those who havent, where in the Emperors name have you been?

As before, this GB will lead us in to the release of the next Star Wars movie. Ep IX The Rise of Skywalker is currently set for release on the 19th Dec 2019.

Now the boring but vital stuff.

1) GB is open to any build from any of the Star Wars Universe as well as your own Star wars inspired designs.

2) GB begins 1sy May 2019 and end on 19th Dec.

3) Progress pics are a must.

4) Have fun, this will be strictly enforced.

Keeping in line with previous badges, here is this years, your reward for all your hard work.

And whichever side you choose to join, be sure to choose wisely.

Dog gone it Bish, you enticed me into another one. Yes I have a Star Wars kit.

The 1/72 Bandi TIE Intercepter.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Bish you know I'm in. And I'm not adding any friggin' LEDs to it so hopefully I'll be able to finish.

Kaiyodo 1/6th Han Solo (the real one: Harrison Ford)

And if I may I'd like to switch my faction. I liked the Rebellion but I can't support the Resistance or whatever it is now...

the "Resistance" is plain awful. Of the new movies the only one I've liked is rogue one. I didn't see solo and I'm not planning on it either. I probably won't go see the new one either, even though I highly doubt they could make a worse movie than the last Jedi.

Sorry Clint. I know there was a big gap between the last GB and this one, but i just felt i didn't want this one to run to long. But really looking forwrad to that speeder.

Thanks for signing up guys. I have a funny feeling we will see a few of those Bandai kits. Even my local small L:HS is selling them now.

Will add you all to the roster shortly.

Clint: I'm going to try not to take us too far off subject but I agree- the only Disney SW movie I've seen was 'Rogue One'. It was okay, the others I haven't even seen. The prequels were okay too but the originals I've watched a zillion times and I can watch them a zillion more times and they just never grow old.

I really want to get into this GB, Bish, but, I'm already in so many GB's already. Funny, seems the Star War's GBs are the only one's I seem to finish on time!

Put me down as tentative for a 1/12 Bandai Darth Vader. My son bought him for me for my birthday this year. When I build him, he will be lighted and with sound. I planned to create my own lighting for him, then I found a lighting set on eBay. I may combine the two ideas.

Anyway, I trying to get the Mig done for your Commonwealth GB. If that goes well, I will be in this GB.

Agreed, but i think blowing up a Death Star may be taking things a tad to far. A strongly worded letter might have been sufficant.

Ted,

I blame the people of Alderaan, If they didn't want to get blown up, they should have left before hand.

The Empire has to do, what the Empire has to do... Capisce?

Bish,

I'll throw in with Bandai's diminutive Blockade Runner.  I figured I was going to build this one real soon, so what the heck, one more GB can't hurt, can it?

A friend in Japan who helped me get a replacement part from Bandai sent me this as a surprise Christmas present (thanks Greg!), so I am determined to honor him by finishing it.

Yes, Alderaan's fault. They should have spent years in investigations, endless special councils and used the press to shame the Princess into revealing the location of the rebel base long before the empire had to be bothered to fly all the way there and use up all that energy to shoot them.

Hogfanfs, the Rebel scum getaway vehicle is 1/1000 I think.

I normally buy only bad guys, but Star Wars is the exception. They are all cool looking!  Just Ep IV, V and VI, to be clear.

You know how much of my hard-earned taxes went into building those two battle stations? Then a bunch of rebels blow them up like the galaxy's most expensive fireworks display. I hope it was worth it rebellion punks...

I know the GB starts in May, but I dry fitted the Blockade Runner to see where attention would be needed.  I compared it to Bandai's Star Destroyer and another one that was built a long time ago, in a childhood far, far away...

If jumping the start line disqualifies the kit, I have others!  Stick out tongue

That actually is a really nice size, G. Would you think it's possible for lighting with this size?

But, I think you should be disqualified for being Rebel Scum!! Buuuuuhhhhaaaahhhhhaaa!

@Bish,

Take me off the tentative list and make me full blown in the GB. I'm having to much fun trash talking the Rebel Scum!

This is what I build last December for a fiend of mine as a Christmas present. It's the 1/144 Bandai Death Star Attack Set. And it was a really fun build.

Here are the pictures:

Hope you enjoy, let me know what you think.
