Bish, if you'll accept me and these two little droids, I think I'd like to join your little band of fellow Star Wars fans. These little guys showed up at the post office today. Upon opening the box I found three bags of sprues, which I thought was quite a lot for two little droids. In typical Bandai fashion, sprues were different colors with one having three different colors on one sprue. I've seen two on one sprue before but not three. Here's a few pics for your viewing pleasure.

Cary, that is a great kit!!  It is one of the first ones I did.  You will not be disappointed!

I have this same kit too. (Please don't tell the Emporer Embarrassed). I just haven't gotten to build them yet. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress during this GB!

Edit: I just realized, I don't have this kit, I have the R2-D2 and BB-8 kit. Either way, I'm looking foward to seeing how these two droids go together for you.

Forgive me Lord Bish, but the Force is strong in my little one....he....he made me do it!

This one doesn't count...just thought it the best place to post it.  Embarrassed

FYI...this kit only came with stickers.  Others have come with both sticker and decal sheets.

Bobby, great job! I love those Bandai kits!

No doubt!  And they are supposed to be coming out with a total of something like 10 droid kits!  And each kit (so far) has come with "accessories" for other droid kits.  The two I have had  accessories for the R2-D2 kits.

Bandai kits by consensus are the best kits currently on detail and fit even though they are snap fit. However if you are looking for a glue kit the older finemolds kits are quite good. Finemolds had lost the SW license  so they are not being made right now, so eBay and those prices are one choice. On the bright side Revel did repop some of their kits which might be available for purchase. I do not know if Revell is still doing that as they now have an agreement with Bandai to sell Bandai kits in the European market.

I don't get upset about any of the movies. I don't spend much money watching them since I usually wait until they come out on Netflix. Ever since ep VI with the Ewoks I figured they were targeted toward kids and not us old guys who actually saw ep IV in the theaters.

It's Hollywood, nothing they do surprises me or upsets me anymore. Actors and politicians are at the bottom of my respect list, in fact I believe I respect politicians slightly more.

Regardless, Bish thank you for hosting this cool GB. The subjects are awesome.

Ted4321

I've been searching for a model so i can contribute...

Is most everything star wars snap fit and painted?

I've built the 1/144 Death Star Attach Set. It is touted as being a snap fit kit, however, it benefited from being glued and painted. And I will say the engineering that I have seen on the Bandai kits, that I have built, is out of this world. I have several of the 1/12 kits, and I will get more of the vehicle kits too.

Oy vey! I can't believe I'm giving advice to a rebel scum! LOL! Big Smile

I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll pick, and as you can see, we have a lot fun with this GB.

I'd rather not do a monster like the millennium falcon, star destroyer, or death star.  But i still want to glue and paint.

Post script: i like all the movies... hey, they're star wars!  But i have to admit jar jar, the flying nun, and the slapstick in the last jedi tests my patience.

I've got the Bandai 1/72nd X and A-wings and they're fantastic kits. I've heard really good stuff about their Y-wing and TiEs as well. I don't think you can go wrong with one of them.

They're snap fit but the detail is excellent. Some parts are molded in colour but as usual they look much better painted.

I wasn't born when the originals came out and was a kid when the prequels did. People give the prequels a lot of hate but I enjoyed them. The only thing I knock them for is Jar Jar and the over reliance of cgi. The new movies rogue one is by far my favorite of the Disney era. It just felt like a star wars movie. Now I don't think they could possibly make a bigger pile of poo than the last Jedi but will have to wait and see. The fact that J.J. Abrams is back directing and Lucas has been advising makes me believe that this one will be better. Other things to check out is the clone wars animation series it's really good. Also really excited to see the amazon series the mandalorian.

Real G, I can relate to the anger you have. I was considering not going to see the last movie also, then I figured after 40+ years invested in this franchise I may as well see it to the end. Who knows, hopefully we will get new model subjects out of this.

Stephen

Sorry about the rant.  I am just so disgusted with the films from the prequels on.  I wanted to like them because, hey they are Star Wars, but just could not in the end.  The Last Jedi was The Last Star Wars for me.

Rogue-I irritated me with useless cameos and vehicle designs lifted from the OT reject pile, but the surprise ending changed my final evaluation.  So it is the only one I'll watch from time to time.

Funny, this hatred I feel not.  Big Smile

OK, Star Wars peeps, they have a Yoda-Speak Generator Here

Hoping this might put a smile on your faces!

Yeah, I heard about McDiamid coming out after the trailer at the con. Not idea how they'll work Palpatine in unless he's a force ghost or in flashbacks. I have no idea how they could have him survive the destruction of Death Star II or being a clone without it being silly.

Even the title, is Reye now to be a Skywalker? Luke is dead. Some have suggested 'Skywalker' is now a generic term for a Jedi like Caesar for emperior. Guess we'll have to wait to find out.

From everything I've read, the Emperor has indeed returned. At the Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, after the trailer rolled Ian McDiarmid was on stage and in Palpatine's voice ordered that the trailer be played again. He's also listed on IMDB.
