Absolutely fan-freaking-tastic. You put your all in her.
As a side note, University of Arizona main quad has a full size main deck perimeter outline in brick. Really have to see it from above to notice it.
DRUMS01I have already purchased the Tamiya Yamato in 1/350 along with the Lions Roar, and Eduard detail kits, decking, etc. (smile) but that will be next year.
I will absolutely be looking forward to that Ben!
Here is your ribbon should you want it.
I've put her on the wall.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Admiral....the good Captain should be put in for the Navy Cross for what he accomplished with the Banner kit.
That thing is in the highest tradition of the Navy.
I think you're right GH. I believe I'll put in the paperwork.
Ben: Congrads!!!
And the LST-1 is still sitting here. Steve is going to beat me. I was hoping this GB would motivate me to get off my butt and build the darn thing. But I keep fooling around with other stuff...

Don't worry Gam. You have it down, you have all the time you want.
I've been away for a long while now. I've just been slammed with things to do and modeling has fallen behind. Since my last post where I had dropped the nearly complete Peleliu I have been reworking the kit. I had to purchase another Tarawa class ship to rob some parts off that got lost when I dropped it and others that were damaged beyond repair. Since I had to do all that I also decided to get some PE for the ship and make it look a bit better. I ran most of the railings, safety catch nets and antennas on the ship. The PE is super small and very hard to work with in this scale, so some of it just can't be done by me. The ship however, does look much better and more to scale with this added. Here is the shots just before heading off to repaint kit. As long as I don't drop it again I should get this done before too much longer.

On the bench:

Outstanding work Ben!
Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.
BrandonK steve5 very nice , the PE added a lot . looking forward to seeing it painted . Thanks, that PE just about did me in. That was a huge chore. I'm not a fan of this scale and have no plans to work in this scale again. 1/350 or bigger from now on. BK

Im hoping your assault ship didnt have deck decals on it.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
GMorrisonIm hoping your assault ship didnt have deck decals on it.
All the work on the deck is airbrushed with the exception of the small numbers, those are decals, all the rest is paint.
At this point my nerves can't take anymore and I'm calling this one done. I would love to do one of these in 1/350, but not another one at 1/700. I got it cased up and on display before I remembered to take final pics. Here they are.
Steve, thanks for allowing my to tag along. This was fun for my first ship. I will definately do others, just bigger.
Sure looks good BK! Especially like the helo rotors. Nice job on those details!
In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

As much trouble you had with it, it really turned out great BK. Fantastic job on all the AC. I have that kit in the stash and was thinking of selling it but now look forward to building it.
I', glad you hung in there and finished it since you have so much on your plate. I'll get it up and make a ribbon up for you tonight.

The new pics will be quite a jump in progress from the last ones i posted. I will work on getting those up in the next day or 2.
Hope everyone is doing well!
Here are some pics of the NC Progress so far. Hope you enjoy.

Love the Camo BB
The PE detail up set for my NC is pretty extensive and has been testing (and improving) my PE skills. Here is a pic of one of the cranes and a catapult I have been working on.
Some more updated pics of my WIP.
Hoping to have her wrapped up by the end of December. Then will either be starting on my Secret Santa model, or the new Bismarck.
I'ts coming right along Matt.
Currently on a break from the NC, and started on my new Bismarck. Here is where I left off on the NC.
Looking sharp there BB! Good to see your latest progress. Will have to check in on that Bismarck
Good looking ship BB.
Ok, I'm committed to another one I've been getting grief for years about building the sub in my stash...so I promised my wife the other night (damn bourbon) that after my 2 F-5's the rocket she got me for Christmas, and my SS group build gift that out comes the sub. And it'll be a true ship type build taking an extended time. Probably won't start till late summer. ModelCrazy if after you read this it fits the GB then...Sign me up for The Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub!
Not sure about which sub to do. My wife and I love the movie Down Periscope and it has great nose art (no name for it on a sub as of course it's never been done so we'll have to settle for the aircraft term). I have photo's of the Pamponito out in San Francisco I took many years ago and I have the book USS Pampanito On Deck Color Series Nr. 5604 the detail set for it from Scale Shipyard PLUS it will be a true sub...and submerge. Definitely a huge goal lol what did that Bourbon get me into, ei yi yi
