I'm familiar with the kit you're building as I have two of them in an unfinished state from a club build several years ago (Spanish Civil War markings one from each side I think). I'm in! 1st timer here. I watched from the background last year and then saved a kit just for this. Going to ease my way in and try not to add so much to a kit that it takes forever to finish. Not sure i noted a 1/144 on the list so this may be another 1st...

FYI lewbud, I'm out of town most of this week for the holidays so I'm planning on doing my SU-85 build the following weekend 12/6 to 12/8.

Start when you can. I probably won't be starting until the second week of December myself. Right now, I'm leaning towards Airfix's Typhoon, Spit Mk.Ia/b or Hurricane Mk. I. I have the camo and canopy masks for all of them and I can use Tamiya's rattle cans to paint quickly. Using the masks alone will save an hour or two. Who knows, I might even try for a twofer.

After some negotiations and compromise on both sides, I have been given the green light to start on the Zeek on Friday. I'm planning on opening up the plastic at or around noon.

We are getting pummelled with rain and hail. As soon as it clears up I'll start with primer app.

Okay, my first attempt will be the ancient Airfix/MPC F-86D in Phillipine markings.

Next time I will try taking a decent photo of the model rather than the phone

OK boys, I started the Zero.

picked this up 2 years ago at a club fund raiser. Didn't know what to do with it but I love the black jet look. Now do i want to have the wheels down or not...

Getting there but those link and length tracks may take some time.

Excellent start everyone. Apologies for not looking through the thread as thoroughly as I should, I'll do that on Monday :)

I've had to change my kit for this weekend. I had chosen to do the Hobby Boss 1/72 Me 163B as Spate's all red aircraft, I had the kit, I bought the paint, but the decals that I thought I had were actually 1/32. Serves me right for not checking, lol. I've ordered the Printscale decals for this aircraft and may do it as a 2nd weekend attempt.

I've decided to stay with the Me 163 theme though, and this weekend's build will be the Condor 1/72 Me 163A. I'm off to a late start and it's already a busy weekend, so we shall see.

Looking good Dave, Scott, Steve, Chad, and Mongoose! I think you'll be okay Tony, that thing's only got like 12 parts, you should have it together and painted by the bedtime.

I'll have to look at it when I get home, but I might try and start the F-86D Sunday after I get off work.

More pics coming up. Had a good night doing prep work. Primered everything in either black or white. Gotta love this paint scheme.

Cockpit 1st I decided because I wanted to dip it in future and let it sit overnight. Did my own canopy mask, painted it satin black and dipped away.

That instrument panel decal is being a bit stogey. I gave it the hard core stuff before quitting, Solvaset. We'll see how it looks in the morning but I bet she conforms now.
