Dang Steve that looks awesome. Love the shading and chipping. Cantbelieve how much you've done in 48 hrs!

ive got mine ready for a flat coat.Gear is on and the pitot is on for the 3rd time...twice for bumping it and once because I didn't like the piece of paint sticking off the side that i found in the picture below lol

I threw a toothpick in for size comparison Surprise

My youngest son said I've got a future as a jeweler in retirement...

Thanks guys,

I'm done. I wanted to do a kit that was a little more challanging than the last few years, and it was.

WOW!  What great builds.

I have until tomorrow morning at 9ish, but it will have to be finished tonight...I have to be at work tomorrow.

Here are a couple of more pics.  I got it painted (was worried about that part), and now just need to get the decals on and add the prop and wheels.  It has been a fun kit for sure!

It's turned out to be a really busy weekend. I didn't get any time between about Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening, but I've still got 4 hours today. Here are the current shots of my Condor Me 163A. There's a lot of work to do on the seams, and the lower fuselage is a lot deeper than the nose, so there's a considerable step where that join will be. I'm not sure that I'll make it, but I'll try.

Cheers

Tony

Finished my Su-37 Berkut up this afternoon about 1pm. 6 hours to spare plus I was done in time to take it to the local club meeting! Lots of fun. I really think I'm going to switch to a smaller scale like 72 in the future. It's so rewarding to finish something in a weekend Balloons

So here's how she turned out.

Beautiful job Mongoose.

Buddy, how about one of the head on pics.

I wouldn't mind doing another,  but the wife acts like I've abandoned her when I do this every year Confused

You'd think she would have gotten use to it after 6 years of doing this GB.

Excellent effort Mongoose. Great result.

Its deadline time for me. I didn't make it but I'll finish it today or tomorrow. I'll reload again for next weekend with the Me 163B Hobby Boss 1/72 kit. Hopefully I'll have the decals by then.

Cheers

Tony

Well I did it!!!  Wasn't sure if I could pull it off, but I did.  What a great kit!  Granted, it is a weekend edition, but a great kit none the less.  Fit was good, decals actually worked well for me!  Over all a very nice kit.  I must confess...there was one thing I did not get to do....I did not get a chance to put a dull coat on it.  I will later, but after looking all over for it, then remembering I loaned my can of dull to my nephew (he is getting into building now).  LOL!  Oh well, I, can shot it when I get another can.

Anyway, great kit..AWESOME GB!!!  Thank you so much Lewbud for hosting it.  I will let you pick the pic for the front.  Thanks again for a great GB!  And awesome work everyone!!  Very inspiring indeed!

Well, with 3 hours left, I knew it wasn't going to happen.  I had 2 different gloss paints to spray, and it's been far to cold here to get the paint to dry quickly.    I started Friday afternoon, and things went well.

Then a couple of honey dos showed up, and those can't be ignored.  Sigh.  Here's where it ended up.

I'll finish it up for the Vietnam Group.

I'll also re-enlist with this:

I'll start next weekend.

This was more challenging than I expected, more so with family commitments over the weekend. Nice job on the little Soviet, Eagle 90.

Finished this one earlier this evening before going to church. This has the markings of the section lead of dive bombers off the carrier Soryu during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Not the best, but managed it within the 48 hour time. lost a few small pieces along he way, and left off the small wings bombs that were a pain in the behind.

Congratulations Mongoose, Eagle, and Mawright! The front page has been updated with Mongoose's and Eagle's pic, just need a good pic from you Mawright!

To those that have gone into extra innings on their builds, keep at it. Don't let them become castaways on the Shelf of Doom.

Has anyone one seen Chad?

Construction more or less complete. Need to hand paint the 20mms and a few bits. Only bugaboo with this kit is the way the wheels go together, you have a seem on the inboard side of the tire. The Mr. Surfacer used to fix that doing something screwy is the only thing that would have me pushing the deadline. Off to paint, 23 hours left.

Thank you all for the kind words.  It was a great kit and an awesome GB!

I have to agree with Mawright20.  With the family in, moving into a new house, not being able to find all my modeling stuff!  LOL!....this year was a bit more challenging then the past.  But that is good!  I love a challenge!

Thanks again Lewbud for a great GB!

Hey Lew, I was planning on building the SU-85 this weekend, but I have too many other projects to finish first so I'm postponing the build til next weekend.  Turns out that weekend is better anyway since I have Friday off!

Ernest,

Whenever is best for you is fine.

Steve,

Nice job on the Airfix classic!  Which pic would you like for the front page?

I called an audible and now I am building Fujimi's 1/72 EA-6A Intruder.  Also started the A-6A, but am just going to concentrate on one. Pics soon.

According to the rules "1. All models must be 100% unstarted."

Does this mean that all the sprues must be intact? If so then I may not be able to take part in this build as all the kits that could be built in time have the sprues dismantled so that I could bring them with me overseas.

Nice work on the Defiant there. I've finally finished the Condor 1/72 Me 163A, which didn't make the deadline...

Now I've started the Hobby Boss 1/72 ME 163B, which will be finished as Spate's all red Komet, which was my original plan. The decals are from Printscale.

Current status :

Cheers
