Mighty fine models being done here so great job gents. I've fallen behing a bit due to other things but made a dent in the progress department.
Got the pit tub assembled and glued up and ready for paint and PE details.
The ejection seat can be a kit by itself with about 32 parts or so. Next will be paint and all the PE goodies.
The IP is done. Clear parts cement was used for the instrument glass faces.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
Here's another update (we need more updates guys!)
Painting on the F-100 is coming along slowly but that's ok.
Only a modeler will understand this, but, I just love F-100 Drop tanks. They have the profile of a shark.
On the Bench: Too Much
Nice work on that Skyhawk and that f-100tank does look sweet nice paint job!
Checking in with progress on the Dragonfly. Quick rant my local HL stopped selling standard tamiya tape and replaced it with their home brand. It is a decent effort but it is thicker and tackier than tamiya I warn you. I am not in love with it but tried it here. The top half of the glass was done in tamiya and the bottom (darker) is the HL brand.
Another item I meant to bring up is a mobile application I have been using for a few years called "hobby color converter". Its free and I have no association to them. It is a fantastic tool for tracking your paints and matching up colors etc. If you dont have it yet get it and you will thank me later!
I got the plane and ordnance sanded and primed and will get back to you with some color.
Thanks for the kind words TJ.
I have the pit completed.
Fuselage is ready to be closed.
Lots of weight is needed up front to keep it from tail sitting.
Another beautiful Tomcat! The Skyhawk too!
I'm making progress. The flying tractor is about done. It is probably my least favorite build, ever. It was just one of those kits that if you aren't fighting it, it is fighting you. I'm sure anyone else could get better results, but I have just been beating my head against the wall with this one, and I will be glad to get it done. I feel like I've already built it multiple times with the massive number of times I have had to reconstruct things. Add one part, break off two more! Where I really just lost interest in the build is when I used 5 minute epoxy to cement the vacuform canopy on. Somehow during the curing process, it shifted, so it is permanently fixed to left a little.
My Monogram F-4J on the other hand is doing good. I got the gloss gull gray on the top today. The aim-9d's and aim-7e's are painted too. I use enamel, so I have some time before I can move on. I'm really looking forward to the decals. I have the markings for the only Marine Corps mig kill while in a Marines jet. Cheers, Greg

Looking good Greg. I really love those monogram phantoms. unfortunately AMS sets in every time I try to build one and it ends up taking me at least a year to finish one :-)

I agree with plasicjunkie, I'm seeing some amazing work done!
I, however, am slowly coming up with a plan.
I got this in the mail all the way from Japan!
So, the plan is to continue building the Fujimi kit for the GB.
And John, I did confirm that the Fujimi Skyraider is longer than the Hasegawa.
I will use the Aires interior on the Hasegawa and the Eduard PE on the Fujimi.
Since I won't need the Hasegawa interior, I will modify it to replace the laughable Fujimi interior.
your shipmate,
Ziggy
Thanks Jmoran.
Ziggy that is one of my favorite prop planes and a great looking color scheme. Those upgrades will add tons to the build.
Another Mig update
The seat is done
Fuselage is together as is the bottom wing

Is there a badge for this GB?
Mig is looking awesome.
Update on the F4-J... waiting for paint stripper to arrive
Thanks,
John

What happened ?
I shot gloss white on the inside of the intakes and somehow it bled over to the outside

Ahhh. Well I'm glad it's a pre assembly disaster :-)
plasticjunkie Is there a badge for this GB?
It is indeed past time for the badge to appear. I will get to it, but I am also open to suggestions or submissions.
Here's what we had in 2007:

That mig pit looks really sweet.
That Mig is amazing! I'm liking the little cessna too. That Hun is looking great too. It doesn't look far from the finish line.
I'm calling the An-2 done. I'm glad I'm done with it. Even my clear parts cement dried cloudy! Hopefully, another manufacturer will make an all new, and much better Flying Tractor kit it 1/72, as I like the type, but I'm not subjecting myself to that kit again!
I spent some time decaling the F-4. Unfortunately, when I pulled the masking off the nose, several chunks came out of the paint. Odd, as I had primed with Tamiya primer, and I've never had an issue with Tamiya primer (it went down to the plastic).
PJ...that office is OUTSTANDING!!!
Gregbear...nice work on the tractor as well as big ugly.

John, if u don't mind, I will work on an idea or two I have for a badge for your consideration. Could have it to you in a week? BTW what are badge requirements? Size, format, etc...
CB, the size of the image I posted is 179 X 132 pixels. The one in my signature is 150 pixels high. That is a pretty good size, but if you have difficulty with the size don't worry as I can fix that. The usual hard part is getting readable text in that size. If the badge is too big it fills up people's signature line too fast. So it's best to keep the text short so it can be large enough to be readable. Good contrast between the background and the text color is important too.
PJ, the MiG looks great, nice work.
OK, Greg, it's going to the trophy wall. Sorry for the angst, but that canopy setup is not for the faint of heart. The AN-2 looks very much like an AN-2 should look. Well done overall.
Thanks guys. Will be closing up the wings later tonight.
Thanks John. I'm hoping to get back on the F-4J by the end of the week. My building time revolves around my wife's schedule. And to a lesser degree, mine.
A fellow club member gave me an almost finished Fujimi F-4N Phantom the other night.
Still trying to figure out what to do with it. Don't add it to the build list just yet. I still have to make a decision as to its fate.
The Airfix/MPC MiG 15 is almost ready for primer. I finished the canopy mask last evening.
.
Next, I'll mask the canopy on the MiG 17 so I can prime them both together. Then I can decide what to do about the Fujimi Phantom.
OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...
Frank, the Mig is looking as good as a mig can be expected to look (at least one that's not on fire anyway) .

Yes... they look much better like this...
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!
N is for NO SURVIVORS...

Hey is that photo from Devo’s “Greatest Hits” album?
BTW, despite all the vitriol being hurled at it, has anyone bought the new Airfix 1/72 MiG-17 yet?
“Ya ya ya, unicorn papoi!”
