Looking good, freem.
John
To see build logs for my models: http://goldeneramodel.com/mymodels/mymodels.html
Got some more done on the F-80! I need to post sooner! Looks like an airplane! Overcame the notorious step between wing and fuse: I ended up cutting off most of the engine and leaving just enough so the tailpipe lined up properly and glued the back section of the fuselage to the front. Clean up some seams and she's ready for foil.

You are in the build, Linus! I’ll put you on the roster!
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” - John 3:16-17
Yeah Linus that's awesome! Frankly the Bronco Comet is giving me fits, I hope the Duster fits together better!
"I dream in fire but work in clay." -Arthur Machen
Now that thing is awesome! Can't wait to see what you do with it!
LinusHave this on order and should arrive in a day or so.
Nice! That’s on my wanted list!
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!

Will watch for updates, Jack! :)
Jack: Again you're making great progress- she looks good!
I was able to make a good bit of progress this weekend. I got it mostly assembled and did my best with the PE. I hit everything with a coat of primer so I can get into OD and then some yellow! I will be back after I let it rest a few days to dry.
Jack: Yeah I built a Tamiya 1/48th Sherman years ago and it does seem small conpared to a 1/35th tank.
She looks good so far, now that you've got the running gear done you're halfway there.
John those figures look good! I am checking in with the last two nights of progress on the tank. I have to say I m surprised by how small 1/48 armor seems to me. Feels similar to 1/72 aircraft scale to me but I digress. I did get a couple of pages of work done and will check back in soon:
Jack: Ohhhhh very cool- gotta love a tiger-face Sherman!!!
John: Glad to be of service sir! Cool story and the figures look great!
So here’s the start:
Installment 1:
For his face/skin and for his boots/gun/buckles, I used Testors and MM enamels; but I used Model Color Cam. Olive Green and US Dark Green for his uniform and Khaki on his straps, belt, and much of his equipment.
Unfortunately, his head came off but has since been re-glued. Even now, he is not quite done.
Well, I got started on my project a bit; but before I post pics I’ll give a little explanation.
I plan to build a diorama of the mission of four US soldiers against a T-34/85. While maybe it won’t be the most breathtaking or harrowing story you’ve ever heard, it is a true one; and that fact makes it more special. The end result of their mission can be seen when viewing the T-34’s gun below; but, as my diorama will be picturing the soldiers before their mission was accomplished, the T-34 in my dio won’t look exactly the same.
Their mission is described as follows:

Thx, Gamera; those US soldiers you gave me will work almost perfectly w/ this diorama!
Hey, guys!
freem: Good start on assembly!
JacknewbIII: I’ll set you up on the roster!
I would like to join in the fun with a 1/48 hobbyboss M4A3E8 Tank. I have only built 2-3 bases and the same number of armor models and would like to improve in both areas. I will get some pics up once I crack it open. thanks jack
That looks cool! Love the cockpit and the tubing for the guns is a big improvement.
I gotta get some pics up! Started the Monogram F-80C on Feb 23 and have made a little progress. Here's sprues with the interior green shot on:
The pit asssembled and painted Wing assembly, bombs and tanks: Forward fuse (hope I got enough weight) Used brass tubing for gun barrels So far the only issues I've had are the instrument panel being way too far forward (knew that going in) and if the engine is installed the rear fuse doesn't fit well. I want the plane closed up so I will see how the fuse pieces fit along with the wing and probably cut the front of the engine off and glue the rest to the rear fuse so the tailpipe is centered correctly.

jeaton01 The movie was called Battle Hymn, if my memory can be trusted. I'm pretty sure I saw it in a theatre WBW.

Thanks!!! That's it!!!
I'm going to try to watch it on YouTube this weekend.
No problem!
Mystery solved!
John 3:16 KJV Gamera, I believe I have solved the mystery of that Korean writing on your plane! Great meaning! https://www.historynet.com/dean-hess-flying-parson.htm

Oh cool! I did read about Hess being an ordained minister but didn't know the logo had to do with that! There's a '50-'60 movie about him. I checked and it seems to be in pubic domain and is on YouTube- I need to get around to watching it.
Thanks!!!
Well, that paint probably won’t run out as fast as the Testors bottles! :)
I‘ve been largely an enamel person myself (Testors and MM). However, I might use some Vallejo paints on my American figures in this GB.
Thanks Ziggy.
I'll have to give that a try with the craft paint. I've tried to thin it few times before applying to a base- I've had varying results.
Gamera & Pat, I am saddened by reading about your fathers passing. I hope both of you feel better soon.
I response to the thinner used. There are two types of isopropyl alcohol, 70% and 90%. I used the 70% to thin the craft paint, just a little because the paint is both cheap and thick. I use a lot for a wash. I could use water, however water has impurities not found in the alcohol. It also speeds up drying time.
I also use Tamiya and Tester's Model Masters and still use the old 1/4 oz Tester's enamals as well as acrylics.
your shipmate,
Ziggy
Thanks guys.
Ziggy: Hmmm, never tried that much thinner. Will have to give it a go.
Thanks John, they're craft paints carried by wally world, and I thin them with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
Thanks, John, Stik & Johny.
