QUOTE: That does it !! Drop me from the build.

We haven't had a set of standards that have lasted 48 hours.
Money spent wasn't a criteria before, why now ?
And you told EasyCo how to adjust his schedule & he just keeps coming anyway.

I'm sorry you & some others aren't taking D-Day or Group Builds seriously.

Jratz,,, I would like to know why you are taking this so seriously???? Does it really matter who finishes there model first or for that matter when. Yes its true nothing is in stone but I thought the true purpose of any build is to build a model. Am I wrong?????
I sorry you feel you have to quit the build, but like I said I dont understand why you seem to be so upset about this.

Rebel if I have steped on your toes I apoligize but I just needed to say something about what jratz said.

Das Reich began to move to Normandy on D+1 (7 June) but did not complete its move until about D+14 (20 June), so one cannot assume that all (or even any) equipment types were indeed present on 7-8 June (to meet the GB guidelines) without detailed research.

Ok, I got it narrowed down. I am doing an M10 from the 635th TDB which was attached to the 1st ID and landed 7 Jun onto Omaha beach. Now all I need to do is narrow down the M10 varriant Smile [:)] Any help? Any pictures would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know of decals/transfers for this TDB (635th) I think I will do Co "B" after I reasearch the numbers.

Man this has really become fun! What a great idea! I can't wait till the 60th Anv. of Ardenes, of the Buldge...etc!

Now all I have to do is build the thing

I just found the following site concerning German armor in Normandy on D-Day. It does not say where or how any of it was deployed.

http://www.dasreich.ca/normandy_oob.html

The page intro says:

"The following diagrams provide basic information regarding the vehicle and manpower make up of the 2.SS-Pz.Div. 'Das Reich' during the Allied Invasion of Normandy in June 1944. This breakdown does not represent all of the units that comprised 'Das Reich' or their complete TO&E, rather it provides a basic understanding of what units fielded a particular piece of equipment, and what the manpower availability was for the Pz.Gren. Regiments, Pionere Bt. and the Aufk.Abt. The camouflage represented on the icons does not necessarily represent the exact schemes used by 'Das Reich' during the Normandy battles."

For anyone modeling D-Day air power, I have a hard cover reference that lists the complete Order Of Battle for the Allied forces on June 5-6. It doesn't list individual AC serials however. I have not been able to find a similar listing on the web, though it probably exists somewhere. For Axis airpower there is of course no similar listing, but the reference does list confirmed Allied kills covering all of the time span of this GB, which at least indicates the various types of AC involved in the battle. If you're not sure if a specific Squadron or AC type was involved, post the question and I'll try to reply.

fightnjoe, u r in.

The FW-190 looks good, but could you hold up on the landig gear or something, other wise it won't really be part of the build. I look at the sites later when ive got more time.

John, your FW-190 is looking great, but seems like you'll have it done before the June 6 start date. Are you doing something different for the Group Build?

Yeah, I'm still in but I'm hanging by a shoestring. Nice sites everyone, but-I'll try the reference forum too-but does anybody have any good D-day sites that show pics of Panzer 4's on d-day? The PC game "Call of Duty" has panzer 4's busting around (and it has tigers too on June6th) so I was wondering on some confermation on that. Thanks.

Phew!! Looks like I just made the cut on one of my planes. I am planning on building 2 aircraft-- Priller's 190A8...and since others were also doing them, I had wanted to stand out a bit so planned on building a Tempest. Beaumont flew his squad's Tempests over the beaches on the 8th and shot down some 109s so I guess I just missed the cutoff on that one as well. Looking forward to starting on June 6th!

Allright, I think I'll bag the panzer 4. But rebel, mark me as still in. I don't want to miss out on the 60th an. of D-day, I want to be part of this. I'm going to try and scramble a Tamiya Panther G early or tamiya's panzer 4 with side/armor skirts. But I like the idea that you have to finish the model before the patch, thats a good Idea, but I'm still in. I'll tell you if I got the kit before June 6 or not.
