Armor Master, if you join the build that would be great if you could make a patch.

rebelreenactor,
If you want to push back the start date that's fine by me, but I'm willing to give the first schedule a shot.

I have a tiger 2 (DML's that comes with a Normandy option) that's just sitting there waiting to be built, but before I can start it I need to finish a model for somebody (Trumpeter's 1/32 F-105g wild weasel-man it's a dog!Disapprove [V]). It'll be finished by June 6th though. If you start it on June 6th, and a Tiger 2 was used in D-Day plus 2 or less, I can join and do the patch John.

how long does it take you guys to finish a regular 1/35 tank? 1 month, 2, 3? I havent built1/35 tank yet. with this info i can get an idea of when to start the build. but it probably won't be next week because of all of the other GB's. and there wasn't a lot of time fromt then till d-day. Starting it maybe inanothermonth isprobably thebest idea. whatdo you guys think. I'd likto get alot of people in.

John, I too would prefer to push the start of the build to June 6th. Nice idea really. There are already three builds going on, and I had to drop out of one. Of course I can't speak for everyone.

I'm up for that. I think it'd b kind of cheating to enter two models in one GB, but I'd really like to do this one, so maybe if the deadline were moved, or the start date.

I think it is kind of symbolic to start on the sixth. There appear to be no other builds going on at that time either.

Starting things on June 6th works for me as well. If it means there will be more of us involved it's defintely worth the wait.

I have far too much on at the moment, but I would probably be a starter if it was on June 6.

ok, now that the date is pushed, I'll definitely be in.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what to build? Im not much of a wwII modeler, but definitely want to get into it.

zokissima,
I usually pull out some history books on the time period in question (in this case the invasion itself plus a day or so afterwards) and read different accounts of what happened. I find that during that process I get some inspiration as to what I'd like to build, something always catches my attention.

In my case I'm looking at building a small diorama centred around a 'Priest' from the 14th Field Regiment, RCA, moving inland after coming ashore.

Ghettochild,,,,,, Since the build doesn't start till june 6th,, I will probably do a little bit of research and see about getting som int. additions and probably try to find an engine. but then again if June 6th comes to fast probably do it OOB. If I find any good sites I will pass them on to you.

Count me in, but don't hold me to what I'll be doing yet .... Now that start date chnaged, I want to do some historical research vs what is in THE Stash ....

I understand:
-- start 6 June
-- aircraft, ship, armor, figure, etc
-- in D-Day meaning 5-8 June

What is end date ??

Just found this site... It goes into what german units where were, and what tanks they had. It also gives a brief combat history of each unit in Normandy. Looks like the 21 pz, and the 12th SS where the only tanks in combat the first few days. That means Pz IVs, Panthers, and a few Pz IIIs. At leas thats what i saw when i glanced through it.

I didnt see any tigers on the rosters though!Disapprove [V]
