Freem & Mongoose-thank you-it was a fun build and I'd highly recommend it as a 'change of pace'-as you mentioned Freem, I think there might be a market for different tractors-I'd love to do a build of the old Ford tractor my grandfather had. On a similar note, I'm about ready to break down and grab an AMT bulldozer @ Hobbylobby in the near future.

Freem-great job on the Stuart-I need to add that kit to my stash.

Caveman-your L-39 looks great-I tend to shy away from airplanes for this GB-always more detail than I can handle.

Hey Guys.  A tractor?  That is awesome and a first for Weekend Madness!  Lots of great builds here.  It seems to get better every year!  Thanks Lewbud for hosting this event.  I look forward to it every year.  When I'm at the LHS rooting through the "bargain bins" I find myself thinking.........Could this be done in 48 hrs.?  Always an honor to sniff glue with you guys for a month or so every year!

Unfortunately for me, without an airbrush that I can trust at the moment, I fear that I am done with Weekend Madness for this year.  Just ordered two new brushes ( Merry Christmas to me ) so I should be back in business very quickly and may find my way over to the CAS group build.  Shameless plug intended .  Again, great work guys!

With regards to the L-39, I had previously mentioned the landing gear.  The box art has great reference photos of the gear bays to help you detail the kit.  Then this is what the kit gives you.

That's right.  Three little holes to stick the gear legs into.  I know the L-39 is usually all closed up on the ground and actually has two sets of gear bay doors for FOD reasons but a little more than old Aurora type gear would have been appreciated.  The rest of the kit needed some work and was fun to put together.  The decals were among the best that I have ever encountered.  Overall this kit needed more time than I had and I would not likely choose an MPM kit for Madness again at least not in 48 scale.  Whatever picture you like for the front page Lewbud.

Bob that tractor is really cool!  Unique.  Bet tractor models would sell to the red and green buffs (if maybe the diecast stuff wouldn't kill it).

Freem-love the Tamiya armour kits-they go together nicely (for the most part) and are a great pallet for weathering and testing new techniques-your's is looking great.

I'm done-would have liked to put a clear coat on and then an oil wash but maybe that's a rainy day project.  Happy with the build-kit goes together well, for the most part.  Decals are not friendly and it seems my bottle of Solvaset has passed it's 'best by' date-add that to the list.

Enough yaba-yaba on my part:

Lewbud-again, thank you for running this tradition-this is the only model I've built this year.  Hoping 2021 is more productive.

Your builds are looking great! Keep at it!

Got started tonight since no one was interested in doing anything but watch tv, so I brought the kit, sprue cutter, glue, knife, file and sanding stick and hammered it out on the breakfast table.  Got so intense in building I failed to take in-progress shots but sprues to paint ready in 3 hrs with a couple of snack breaks and tv distractions.

Thank you all-it is an interesting subject-great test bed for painting/weathering-I will probably do some heavy weathering after submitting the final pics for this GB.

I primed earlier this am with Tamiya grey spray and then airbrushed a mixture of Tamiya flat red & flat white-got brave after that and pulled out the Vallejo Model Air and attempted some 'detail' spraying-I'm happy with the results although I will be doing 'clean up' with a brush tomorrow.  Would like to do heavy weathering but I'll save that for later.

Anyway, here's where it stands now:

That is a cool subject.  One of the car magazines I read posted a race of Porsche tractors and one of them was painted as the Pink Pig towing a trailer full of pink pigs.

This is where my build was at 1415.  While I got some parts painted, the only addition was the rear storage basket.

Bob, cool subject.  I don't recall seeing a tractor being done before for this group build.   Looking forward to the end result.  

Caveman, awesome work.  Those MPM kits are not easy.  My hats off to you for pulling it off.

Lewbud, keep at it.  You're almost there.

With 11 hours to go, this is where the WMIK is at.  The frame has been painted, the bed has been painted and installed (took three times), and the powerplant has been installed (took three times).  Here she is with the machine gun cage and the firewall mocked up.

I have to make a run to the LHS because I'm out of Tamiya primer.  I can save some time if I don't add the weapons and the boatload of ammo, but I don't know if it will be enough. We'll see.

Well, worked right until 12.  Can't hold it to a clock without getting fingerprints in the clear so I will post more pics. tomorrow.

Been following all the builds since the start-all very impressive builds (as usual)-and the fact that they've been built in 48hrs +/- makes them even more impressive.

I can't miss this GB (it's usually the only kit I complete during the year) but motivation hasn't been there-decided to try something different-started at 5:30 pm CST on the Revell Porsche.....Tractor.  I need a quick win and I figured I wouldn't keep second guessing myself on this one.

Misplaced my camera so the start pics are on my phone-will get them on the hosting site early tomorrow and then post here.  About half way thru the build so I should finish the build tomorrow, prime and maybe get a base coat on tomorrow pm....and I've only lost one part so far-gear shift so a straight pin should work as a replacement....

Neat looking kit Lewbud.  Look forward to seeing it come together.  It's also nice to see a ship in Weekend Madness.  That doesn't seem to happen very often.

I have been remiss in posting photos.  This kit is keeping me very busy.  Reminds me of the old Classic Airframes kits.  Lots of clean up, no locating tabs or pins but reasonable details.  I also can't overstate how much I hate vacuform parts.  All this together with vague instructions has made this a labor.  So while the first paint is drying down, I have a chance to post.

I think I will be hanging this one from the ceiling because the landing gear are just embarassing.  I will show them later.  To make things more difficult ( fun! ), I think my airbrush just blew it's teflon seal, so I needed to switch to an oldie that I had lying around.  I still feel confident that I will have something to show.  I still have nine hours left.

Ain't done a tank since the Aurora and Monogram kits in the 70's.  Aiming to start New Years Eve, I hope.

Started the 1/35 HobbyBoss Defender Wolf WMIK.  This will be a crossover with Bish's British Army GB.
