Thanks Bish and Cliff. I did the mottling with a little tiny piece of kitchen sponge and some thinned paint.

Cheers

That looks amazing Tony, love the effect of the mottling on the side. Thought the markings were familiar, i have the same tamiya kit, i think i am useing those markings to use on the Academy. Yours came out really well. Thanks for taking part, will get you on the front page.

Hi Bish,

I've run a few days over with my builds as my entire family tested positive to COVID at the start of the year. Back on track now, and here they are. This was the 1/72 Airfix 109E. It's a nice kit, for sure, but I found the Tamiya kit to be an easier build. Both are well detailed and I'd build either again. I've used decals from the Tamiya E-4/7 trop kit as the decals supplied by Airfix were quite similar to a model I already have on the shelf. This is my 6th 109E in the collection, not including the few I built as a kid.

Thanks for hosting another good one.

Cheers

Tony

Gamera

Bish: Was going to comment on the Typhoon and then the thread keeps getting pushed down the forum and I keep forgetting. Great job there as usual, love how she came out and the base. I'm certain some figures will show up that you can use.

Tony: Great job there on the camo, with it and the yellow you've got the hardest part squared away.

It can be very easy to miss stuff. Thanks mate.

I'm always in awe when I see everyone's builds-great quality builds.

I've been checking the posts daily but did little posting and even less building-finally got motivated to try to finish...and on time.

The kit fought me (and won.....) but I'm happy just to have completed it-

Bish-thank you for running another great GB.

Cheers

The Typhoon really looks fantastic Bish. The display base really adds to it too.

I got the RLM04 Gelb down on the nose and rudder, and RLM02 camo down on my 109E. More to come soon.

Cheers

Thanks Nick. I'd been wanting to add one for a while and i only bought this in 2019. Not often a kit only sits in my stash for 2 years, its usually much longer.

Time to add the final pics of the Typhoon. Once on the base, i added some Flightpath wheel chocks and a GPU and the ladder is from DreamModel. As you can see, i have no figures. I do have a pilot that works for this but no ground crew. Hopefully i'll be able to find somthing and add them soon.

Thanks for looking and thanks to all who have taken part in the GB. Remember, the offical end of the build in on Fri, but if your name is on the last, please feel free to keep posting your builds.

Thanks guys.

John, ye, it does have that look, i think the same can be said for quite a few modern aircraft.

gamera, i know what you mean. Amazing how far the technology has come. Just one of those GBU's would be a max load for a Ju 87.

Looking nice there Tony.

She's looking great Bish! Love all that ordinance under the wings. I'm so used to Second World War fighters with a single bomb slung underneath it's so amazing to see a boatload of missiles and bombs hanging from them.

Tony: That's cool, great job on her too!

The Typhoon would fit in a Star Wars movie, Martin.  It's looking good.

That looks really outstanding Bish. The ordnance loadout is impressive, to say the least. It's a really good looking model.

Here's an update for my Airfix 109E.

Cheers

I think its been nearly a month since my last update, but i'm finally able to get some updates posted. The Typhoon got a Flry wash, i didn't want to get it to grubby, just in use.

I adding some exhaust stainign around the APU exhaust before the mat coat. All the remaining parts were then fitted.

The Litening pod on the centre station is Eduar resin. The GBU's from one of Hasegawa's weapons sets. The rest from the kit. Its noce to see Hase adding ordanance to its kits.

So the Typhoon is all but done. I just have to paint and add the FOD covers for the intakes and add some RBF tags then i can add it to the base. I still have some ground equipment to finish and figures to sort out and paint.
