Phillie, super work on the B36, that is a huge model to finish, and a great finish.

Jack, great finish on the Flying Fortress, those decals were a real pain, well handled.

68GT, The Phantom looks extremely schmick, great finish for an old kit.

Cbaltrin, super recovery on the Corsair, it has come up a treat, lovely finish.

Trabi, very neat finish on your tiny jets! They are quite a pair.

For me I have got back to the Lola, and have white primed the body. Getting the stripes sorted out has been a bit of a trial. I am not using the doubtful kit decals, for the stripes at least. Setting out the masks:

After the first coat with a rattle can, it has needed rubbing back – using 2000 grit and washing the residue off before recoating.

More coats of paint, and the masks are off!

Lots of little bleeds that aren't showing up at this distance, but closer in you can see...

(There are some flakes of paint from off the masking tape too)

So a bit of clean up before decaling and here we go - despite the age of the decals, it still worked okay - or so I thought..

The first sponsors' decals went down well, so then I moved on - stupidly using the Surtees one next - and look what happened surprise, surprise..

So some recovery work to be done now

Thats tough!  Do you have any way to recover by making new ones?

68GT:

Is there any way Lostagain from Australia might find those decals, aftermarket?

Maybe someone has a scan of them or is creative enough to make them on their own.  I really would know where to start looking for car decals since I randomly find new ones out there.

Hmmm:

I am trying to remember, Ah Yes, they need to try an outfit called IndyCals in Parker, Colorado.
