Thanks, Robert, Cliff, and Chris!  Still have a bunch more Zeros to do. The A6M2-N, A6M2-K, A6M7, and A6M8 varieties in 1/48.  I have already done the Ka-14, A5M2, and the A7M-1.  That leaves the A7M-2, A5M4, and A5M4-K to round out all of Jiro Horikoshi's airplanes.  All waiting in the stash.  Hasegawa, Fine Molds, and Classic Airframes kits.

I've tried twice to build a Rufe with no luck. Can't explain why.  I really want to get one in my collection. I want to do a weatherd one , in a diorama, resting in a lagoon somewhere in the Sout Pacific.

Good luck! I really like the idea.

The O-I is pretty much done other than some detail painting.

I'm finishing up work on the base and there's a bunch of detail painting left on the figures. Thankfully most of the major painting on them is done now.

Today Zero was more or less completed. Some pics for now and tomorrow a final inspection and a few words, before handing it over to the squadron.

I kinda hate to ask this but is there any interest for another of these?

I usually start to getting stuff squared away just after Thanksgiving but so far haven't really spent any time on this over the last two weeks.

If there's interest I'll see about getting stuff set up for next year. It's really not any trouble but I hate to run the thing if it's only about three people and myself.

Well, I got back from my early Christmas present from Toho Studies. 'Godzilla: Minus One' has got me amped up for another GB!!!

Lots of beautiful CGI recreations of former Imperial Navy ships and one very cool experimental Japanese plane pops up at the end. It so cool to see it flying even if in only CGI.

It's almost like 'The Eternal Zero' with Godzilla!!!!!

Personally my recommendation is SEE IT!!! Best movie I've seen in years and maybe the best Godzilla movie yet!

Ok, ok, you got it guys! You don't have to poke me with a stick, I'm moving!

Really thanks guys for the vote of confidence!

Only issue is the badge, I have an idea and I can get Rock to do the sketch but Jack/Jgeratic has been polishing it into shape. And I've haven't seen him around in ages. Anyone else know how to get the original sketch in shape out there?

Below some pics of the Zero inside an experimental scenery.

Some grass field in Halmahera in the Moluccas.

Wing Hinomarus enlarged and landing gear doors painted yellow for easier recognition, for the dogfights over Darwin to come...

That looks great Zvezda, do you want me to swap out your photo for one of the new ones?

And thanks, I'll get the new GB posted soon. I'll get something up as a badge.

First up completing my Group build entry for 2023, a full day earlier than I normally do.  The Hasegawa 1/48 Aichi B7A2 Grace 1/48 Torpedo / Bomber was a wonderful kit and highly recommended. Pretty much built out of the box other than I finally tried riveting with a riveting wheel for the first time.  I learned a lot and will use this technique again.

The second photo is another Japanese subject that is NOT part of the group build, but a Japanese subject folks may or may not enjoy seeing.  The second model is the Arrows Footwork Mugen Honda FA13 driven by Aguri Suzuki. The car is from the 1992 Formula 1 season. 1/20th scale Fujimi kit.  I had some issues with the tyres *(builders fault), but otherwise, it was a fiddly build with some small fit issues.  Technically speaking I believe Arrows team was British, but Footwork is a Japanese firm as was the driver for this car.  Looking forward to next year and still undecided on what to build.

Oh wow, those look fantastic!

Love the worn paint on the B7A2! Did you paint the insignia on? They look really nice and worn instead of like decals.

And the FA13 looks great too! I'm envious of you guys that can get a beautiful gloss coat on auto models.

Got your Grace posted, I think. The FSM website has been acting strange all day, taking forever to load pages.

Okay I'm going to try to post this. The O-I is done. But the website is taking about a half-hour just to load each page.
