Anyone need a squadron vac-formed malcom hood? Ah done have one in da box wit da filly, but as far ah's I know'd , chindit's didn't have 'em. Or fer that matter, True details criss cross tire pattern. As far as I kin tell, chindit's A wing tires were the straight pattern.
(unless of course y'all can prove me wrong).

The stuff came with the kit, so it's no loss to me.

Hey Blackwolf, any chance of a few photos of damaged and shot up Mustangs, especially RAF ones? Melted the tail-rudder on mine and now thiking I may have to operate ( cue thunder and lighting flashes).

Thinking: diorama...comin' atcha'... crashed or beat-up RAF Mustang just after landing...hhmmmmmmmmm...

Dang Pix,
Your cockpit, especially the 1st picture, is beautiful (as usual!!) Have you ever done a write up on your cockpit techniques?? That is something that should go in the magazine Bow [bow]

Pix, good looking pit. Nice painting, as usual.

Jeff, you really don't have to clean the prepainted PE. Eduard did it for you.

Here is my Accurate Miniatures P-51B, finished it about a month ago. Kit was a pleasure to build but I added quite a bit to it. There were a few outline corrections, mostly around the tail and spine, that had to be made. Used the Waldron cockpit set and redid the wheel wells. The gear doors are intentionally at different angles as the hydraulics often bled down at different rates, thought it added a bit of something different!

Hi all,

For this Stang GB, I will be building the P-51B 'LIVE BAIT' of Clayton Kelly Gross, 355th FS, 354th FG using the AeroMaster decal sheet 48-225 and the Tamiya P-51B/C.

Can anybody out there who knows tell me if there are any known inaccuracies in this decal sheet that I should be aware of?

Cheers
Darren

braillescale, very nice build of a Stang. The AM kit is a good one, better than Tamiyas in some areas. Your representation of the gear doors is interesting, although technically the flaps should be lowered as well, as they also dropped as hydraulic pressure bled down.

After some figgerin', I done decided to paint up my Pony as "INA the Macon Belle" -- the mount of the only true Tuskegee ace- Lee Archer. Apparently, a group called "Warbird Decals" has made some Tuskegee markings decal sheets and will soon be releasing a set for Archer's plane...although I don't see anywhere that you can purchase them from....

Happy B-Day [bday] Happy Birthday Pix. Here's to 49 more.

As fer my stallion... Hi, Ho Silver.... yup she's silver like a Buffalo Nickel sittin' on the saloon counter. Actually she's gloss aluminum. I've also got the gear doors painted, and the decal placards are on the drop tanks. <----Treadheads don't get excited... these are the things that hang under the wings of an airplane...Evil [}:)] Also got the canopy and windscreen dipped in future and set under cover to dry. After some future I'll be masking and painting the blue nose and spinner... then it'll be time to afix all of the little odds and ends.

Jeeves - If you want some pictures of INA the Macon Bell go to the Fantasy of Flight web page at fantasyofflight.com. I visited this museum when I was living in Tampa and actually saw this bird in flight. Kermit Weeks flys one of his aircraft each afternoon at 3:00 and I was lucky enough to see him fly this P-51C and get an up-close walk around. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me. There's nothing like the sound of a Merlin in action!

I am disappointed with the Verlinden Merlin engine. Fit is horrible and no exhaust stubs. I need to find a complete resin Merlin... where do I go??
