yeah I saved the airframe... it's got some nice curves to airbrush when I feel like it...

This Corsair is SWEET! It's a Tamiya 1/48 with lots of interior detail, good exterior lines to it... and no flash etc.. haven't really noticed bad ejector pin marks... problem is I am still waiting on the resin, PE and decals... greatmodels still has the shipping status as "searching" getting a little impatient to start cause it looks so nice! I did their make of the Japanese "George" and it went together like it was building itself! very little if any putty to apply and it was a real fun model to build so I have my hopes up for this one!!!

Later,

Tom

Yeah Tom those Tamiya kits just seem to fall together eh,i have the Highplanes resin conversion to turn the F-86 sabre into the CAC Sabre used by the RAAF and it's aCensored [censored] nightmare to build.........Guess iv'e spoiled myself on Tamiya and Hasegawa kits..........
Anyways i have the c/pit of the hellcat just about done,it only took about an hour to remove those annoying cast on seat harnesses,i had to cut a paintbrush in half and superglue tiny pieces of sandpaper to the cut ends to get it into the seat, sure does look better with PE seat Harnesses........

Got my Tamiya F4F laid out and ready to start painting the interior parts tonight. Looking at this kit, it seems it will go toether rather fast. Also, looks very well molded.

Hi Guys

I apologize for not keeping up with everyone - been dodging storms down here. We had a little wind damage, but no big deal. I spent the past week up in Arkansas looking for a new house that can accomodate my stash. I start work up there in mid October. It's good to see all the great work here, I am starting to have withdrawls - have,nt been able build sonce I posted my Phantom a couple weeks ago.

Ray

BTW - sweet shading on your SBD office Chris! Oh yeah, this time its your turn with Ivan - good luck!

Chris, I work for the U.S. National Park Service as a Park Ranger. I am transferring to a little national park called Arkansas Post National Memorial. It's way past the time to escape the "rat race" of southernFlorida.

Good luck with that storm brother!

Hey Ray

Hope you haven't forgotten about me! I still have every intention of finishing that Skyhawk. I have to believe the the piles of hockey jerseys here that need to be decorated will go down someday. Glad to hear you made it through yet another hurricane OK. Talk to ya later. If you have a chance, check this out.

cool! glad to hear ya made it though... still waiting on word from Saltydog...

I'm only a little ahead of you... got the cockpit together and the wings and fuselage glued together... waiting on the future to cure then painting and adding the floats and PE to the exterior... (It's a OS2U kingfisher) also working on a AV-8B that is coming together too sweet... might add this to the GB as the OS2U is a little basic. I remember my dad did me one in 1/32 when I was a kid that had lots of detail... this one I am not impressed with... there's PE but some of it looks out of scale. In fact I have found there are several pieces of PE that I cannot find evidence of in ANY reference photos... (handholds on the floats themselves and a few other exterior pieces)

oh well, I guess childhood memories are the best... this kit sure isn't...

going to the LHS later today to have a look at hornets. though they are nowhere near as deadly as cats, they still are pretty darn cool. due to financial reasons, i think it will be a 1/72 hornet not a 1/48 hornet. or maybe it might not be a hornet! hahaha im fickle !

Heck yea, reggie! Sounds really cool! I'm trying to find some photos on the Hornet cause I am thinking of folding the wings... by the way... are a hornets flaps down even with the wings folded? This Hasegawa kit is spectacular and I'd like to try that to really set it off. The only down side is little detail on the ejection seats and decals for the instruments. I've done some scratchbuilding on the seats and a little goes a long way. They look 50 times better. Next time I'll try a detail set. Also reggie you should check out the 1/72 Has FA-18F Super Hornet!!! I paid 20 bucks for it here and it's so worth the money. The kit is beautiful. Fit is great! Aside from Photobucket how do i post photos here? I'd like to show it off if I can make it work.
