it's real bad around here (Houston, Texas)... you drive down the freeway and there is a sign hangin at least 45 feet above the ground with grafitti all over it... you wonder how they climbed up there and didn't get caught.. even at 3am here there's steady traffic!

Luckily I live a bit out of the city, and it's mostly farmer boys around here... The favorite pastime for them is drinking and cow-tipping... hmmm do they do that in Australia?

Jules... a well laid perimeter of Claymore's would keep that from happening to your house... btw: congratulations on the house!

BIG REDS alright!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The mouses we get round here are HUGE!!!!

Years ago we used to go roo hunting, they make for some fantastic grilled steaks, and the largest one we got was around 6 foot tall standing up, and weighed in at 50 odd kilos.
Still got the tanned hideCool [8D]

Jules, police commisioner is all yours.
Will even supply the stun guns and pepper spray.

Claymores might b a tad under done Tom, I prefer Bouncing Betty's, that way they know they have no choice but to kiss it good bye!!!!!

For modellers, we are a violent bunchBlack Eye [B)]

Yes Rusty an extension wold be good. I'm still planning on finishing to the old schedule but I've only spent a couple of hours on the model in the last 2 weeks. This weekend all I did was more fettling and glued a couple of bits. Maybe next weekend (the wife's away for 4 days - stop that cheering!!!) will see paint applied.

Laid down another flat coat on the 109 tonight, after that cures I'll do the smoke and general grotty stains/leaks, then the final coat.
On schedule to be finished by Wednesday, providing no dramas come up.

---edit--- oops I forgot to type anything before I hit post!!

Cow tipping is where ya combine lots of your favorite beer... and go out in the fields about 2am and tips over the cows while they are sleeping...

in the morning you get to drive by slowly and watch em all frantically trying to get up... they don't understand how they went to sleep one way and woke up all sideways...

We heard about that from one of our American friends here, and thought it would be funny to try.

Problem struck when we went to one of the stations round here, and found the grumpiest Brahman bull that ever existed.

I don't advise trying to tip 500 kilos of angry beef.

It generates some really bad karma!!!

Well, back too modellingSad [:(]

Did the exhaust and gun stains tonight, that took a LONG time.
Tamiya smoke as the base, then a light dusting of pastels.

After that a little 'dirt' and some oil leaks, cause 109's leaked oil like hippy vans!

Can't wait to finish this thing, been going WAY too long.

Back too bovine storiesYeah!! [yeah]

I remember me and a friend intentionally giving this one bull the sCensored [censored]s too see how agro we could make him.
He was only a small one, round 300 kilos.
I had no idea they could run so fast!Shock [:O]

He looked so placid, standing there chewing his, well y'know.
Next thing he's right up our clacker frothing at the mouth and stuff!

We ate him 6 months later, he wasn't so tough then!!!!!!!

Well I finally got something done on the Widgeon last night.. mated the hull and was surprised at what I thought was going to be a nasty fill job (1970's or earleir Airfix kit) mated right up after some ambroids softened the edges of the halves... just two little spots I had to putty... gonna sand them in a bit and will probably be in a painting stage by Mon... I have 2 weeks off starting next monday. The wife is going to visit some relatives on Fri night not coming back till Mon night so that is PLENTY of time to finish my Naval Aviation piece... the SBD is just waiting on paint and final assembly (gear, bombs etc..)

I wanna do this one right as I plan to give it to my dad for Xmas... it's a USCG search and rescue aircraft, circa 1940ish I believe... going have a go with the Alcad on this one too... wanna get it spiffy looking. Gotta find some chrome yellow for the wings, if I have to I'll use insignia yellow, dad won't know the difference (but *I* will Disapprove [V]) There is no interior detail to speak off... no seats, no instrument panel etc... but the windows are so thick you couldnt see inside even if there were some.. it's one of the inly games around for coast guard stuff really... that or the Trumpeter HH-65 chopper with the canopy split vertically down the middle (I hate that kit but one day I will finish it then go burn it)

Anyway... looking forward to some uninterrupted modeling this weekend!!!

Tweety... seen the same thing happen.. . some of the guys messing around with a bull then you find out the do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds! not a fun feeling being in front of those horns!!! Specially them longhorns!!!

Yeah, I can never work out why Nature would make a bovine with horns that bigConfused [%-)]Confused [%-)]
Not only is it impractical, but it just looks silly.

Anyways, Friday night is the time I have set myself for finishing my 109.
Couple of other things have taken the last 2 nights away from me, but managed to get the oil stains done, now it's some light dusting, ass'y of the canopy, and thats it.

Oh, and lucky me, I lost one of the balancers for the flapsBanged Head [banghead]
being so small I have no hope of finding it on the carpet, so will worry bout it later.

Friday, complete with pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a bummer, but so be it.
Actually, I'm gonna try and finish tonight, so hopefully have some pics up by the morning.

Or I may completely stuff it up and have pic of a crashed 109 by the morning, it can go either way atm.

Glad I'm not the only one who needs an extension. I can get my Arii George done by then and it give me time to touch up my Tojo for the NMF.

Trying to get some good pics is difficult, I don't have any real lighting to take advantage of for pics, so have to make do with ambient lighting, but it'll give ya the general idea.
This is White 5 of JG 53, 1945.

Any thoughts or ideas, positive OR negative would be muchly appreciated.

Between you, me, and the fence post, it's the only reason I stick with modelling.

Well...... to be honest Geoff... it's ugly... really really ugly... hahaha but I always thought those Marders were... ! Wink [;)]

Good job! I like the camo netting you added... I can imagine that barrel slowly rising waiting to let loose with that killer cannon! To be honest I am not an armor person but I almost picked up a Marder today.. in fact I might still... of course the Hobby Lobby 40% sale ended today but oh well... I was there and not only did they have the H and M versions of the Marder III both by Taimya, they had the brass casings and 7.5 cm shells, ammo boxes, jerry cans, etc... etc.. etc... could have a complete dio worth of stuff for pretty cheap!!!

But alas I digress...

great job! I am almost finished with my SBD so can get working on my Widgeon for this build... might pull a fast one and forget the Widgeon and try to get something in during Jan.. the BoB GB starts then but I can work something in during the meantime, I have till May to finish it.. the holidays are just too cramped for time!!!
