I have to admit, I was wondering about the refueling myself. I think I'll cop out and say that the refueling probe is hidden in the fuselage and pops out when needed. That way, I just decided to pose it in the "closed" position. Yeah, that's the ticket! Or maybe in the spirit of joint operations, my A-10W has the plumbing for both drogue and boom? Hhhmmmmm...

All that's really left is to mask and paint the canopy and then get it mounted. Oh, and one last flat coat, too, before the glass is put on.

um the term "Aerodynamic" and the A-10 TOGETHER hmmmmm Confused [%-)] isn't that like Military Intelegence a contradiction in terms??? LOL JK actually with all the ordinance i have to spare i may get a second A-10 and do a naval version for the refueling probe i was thinking of setting it up A-6 intruder style

Cool, I couldn't remember if someone was doing an A-10N or not. Look forward to seeing how that comes out.

Got some work done on my RAF Thunderbolt GR.1A today (basic assembly)...gonna try and get some pix uploaded later.

Outstanding job on the hog there, LJ! That paint job is really an accomplishment. And here I am worrying about masking the Euro I scheme I have in mind for mine, lol.
Sure do wish the Marines had our own hogs....we'd put the air force out of the CAS business in a heartbeat!

Thanks, for the kind words on the camo. I masked and painted the canopy last night, so I've really just got a few details left to finish this one up and then it's on to the next project, whatever that will be.

If the Corps had A-10s, with the way we make do with things, they'd still be flying when the F-35 JSF is being retired!

The A-10 is as good in it's job as the C-130 is at its. In other words, the best replacement for an old A-10 is a new A-10.

Snake, LJ - y'all are right - the Corps should have replaced their Scooters with Hogs. That's why I'm building an A-10M (different from LJs Whiskey model) and given the last 2-3 conflicts our nation's military have been in, the Pentagon should have kept that production line open and churning them out. Hawgs flying when F-35s go to the Boneyard? Sounds good to me!

SoapBox [soapbox]...okay, I'll step off now.

And a couple of detail shots of the sensor pod I added for PGM guidance and the office:

"In Arkansas, F-16 fighters from the Air Base at Fort Smith would be removed but an A-10 would be added. Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., said the change will result in little, if any, loss of personnel."

So the Razorbacks will finally be flying the right aircraft!

I've gotta get back on top of things... mine made it down to Alabama with me, but I've been working steadily on a series of F-86s and a Hasegawa Apache.  Once I get the Verlinden detail set for the Trump N/AW, I'll finally be able to finish it.

I don't have any of those around, but you sure can make pretty easy if you want. As a bonus, I'm gonna try my hand at it too. They could come in handy. All I'm going to do is lamenate some evergreen stock, cut and shape. I little stretched sprue for the tip and ..bingo.Big Smile [:D]

That's the $64K question.Smile [:)] I'm not entirely happy with the tail and I've got to work on mounting 2 cannons in the nose. Lots of ordinance, of course.Wink [;)] This ones on hold for about a week while I complete a firefighting Apache.Approve [^]

You're gonna have t...two cannons on "Hogzilla" (BTW - I think that's what you should name it). I was wondering what color scheme you were going for... but instead I find out you're gonna put on two guns.

Tails, huh? Why not three verticals? Two on the ends of the horzontals and a third on the end of the fuselage? I like the looks of the two configurations you've already shown (although that second one - it might have a noisy takeoff and landing)

Well, it can't be an A-20 - Douglas already built that plane... But regardless of the numerical designation, that thing is HOGZILLA!
