Looking good Joe. I'm still detail painting & wrestling with PE for my pit. Hope to have something to show soon.

Daniel, The second best Corsair would be the HobbyCraft kit in 1/48. Not a bad kit, but fitting the flaps is a challenge.

Just scored a set of decals on E-Bay last night, so I cancelled the set I had ordered on GM so they'll send the rest of my order (which includes and Aires cockpit set). Hope to have it by the middle of next week so I can get started.

I'll have to wait a few weeks to start my build. Reason being I don't have a kit...... I'll see if I can pic one up from somewhere. I've built two Tamiya kits before, so I might try something different. Any recomendations on the second best 1/48 Corsair kit out there? I have the decals already.

Yeah, I've just done the cockpit and glued the fuselage together. Now I just need to find four or five extra hours in the day.

Anyone?

Still waiting on my Aires cockpit and Decals from GM. The decals are holding up my order. If they don't come in by the middle of next week I'm going to hit the send button so I can get started.

Hey pmm736! That's the exact decal sheet I just received a few days ago from Meteor Productions. They call it a "Limited Edition" but they must still have a few of them in stock.

Hello guys, I've jumped into this build late from the LEM side. I haven't kept track of the build here on FSM but for those who are still having difficulty finding 1/48 scale decals I found this set (Cutting Edge #ced48226)on E-Bay:

It has decals for 6 planes, 4 of which were supposedly flown by Boyington. This particular set is in an auction thats ending today (April 24). GreatModels also carries them but currently lists them as 'Special Order'. I ordered the set from them only because I was buying some other things. I realize it's late in the game but if ordered now they should come in in time to finish on time. Hope this helps.

P.S. here's the link to the E-Bay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5970312795&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

And Joe, if you could add me in here, that would be great: Tamiya 1/48 F4U-A1, Aires cockpit set, Cutting Edge decals. Thanks, Pete

I am now officially prepared for this GB. The decals arrived today from Meteor Productions and I couldn't be happier. For the record, I'll be doing aircraft 883 "Martha".
