Jules - no prob on closing it... notice I said 'one day' haha... like my mom would tell me when I would ask her when I would ask her when I would be old enough to own my own .22 cal gun.. her answer was always "one day"

AS far as closing this build goes it's up to you mate but i don't mind if it keeps going, in fact i was hopeing to build the Claude in this threadThumbs Up [tup]

Jules - happy to have helped you!!! I might go check and see if there is one left... Like I said that would look dandy next to a P-26A especially as there are many similarities...

hmmm I just realized something, I am leading this GB and I have yet to build something for it after the demise of the Zero... well not demise, actually I forgot why I stopped working on it.. something or nother broke and etc... etc...

I may have to ante up so one day we can close this build! Wink [;)]

Darren - depends on if the missus is nearby.. Wink [;)] That would make a stunning display right next to a P-26... has me thinking it does... the goldish tone with bright red highlights of the A5M4 right next to the colorful green or blue fuselage with yellow wings P-26...

it was a whole different aircraft world just prior to the war....

Jules I just went back and looked at that again... I missed the obvious (it was written below the pics) this is the resin casting of the model... so there are no halves... there is another styrene set out there somewhere.. I'll see if I can find it here in the US...

Jules I had a look at one of the hobby shops I thought I saw that kit in today, and they didn't have it. I might try to give a couple of the shops in Sydney a call later in the week and see if they have it.

Daniel, Mate yeah i'd aprreciate it if you had a look around, and that goes for the rest of you "Usual Suspects, I don't care where it is or how much it is but i definatly want the fighter variant............

Tom I had a look at great models and read the reveiw on the 2 seater but it looks a little difficult to convert to a fighter, and your right the A5M does look a little like a peashooter.......BTW if there is 2 Academy 1/48 Peashooters at you LHS can you grab me the 2nd oneThumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Jules - Fujimi makes them in 1/72, the Classic Airframes one that I saw at Great Models was the two seat trainer... it's kind of ironic how much the A5M4 looks like a peashooter...

I think you'll find that Classic Airframes makes a kit of the Claude. It's a Short-run kit with resin for the cockpit and engine. I think it's out of production now, but you might find one in a shop. In fact, I think I saw one not long ago in a hobby shop around here. Don't remember which shop though. I think it was in Sydney somewhere........If you want, I can do some investigating for you.........

Yeah Tom all i did was to lighten the same IJN grey a little more for the rear fueselage and tail, And thats interesting about the forward section being gloss, i may just paint a dullcoat on the rear and see what it looks likeThumbs Up [tup]

I asked this Question over at the Pearl Harbour GB but i'mm gonna ask it here as well....
Do any of you fellas know if anyone makes a 1/48 kit of a Mitsubishi A5M ClaudeQuestion [?]

Jules I actually found a bit on that... it seems it was near the same color if not the same but the front part is gloss and the rear dull... no idea why and neither did the author of the article..

Yeah Tom I have the Tamiya FW 190 F which is sitting idle at the moment, guess i'll have to wait fo an appropriate GB to pop up in 2009 before i start it..........

As far as this build goes i'm still plugging away, at the moment i'm playin with the IJN grey to get a shade thats appeasing to my eye, there is that much controversy about the correct IJN grey colours that i decided it's the modelers call and i'll paint the colour the shade that i like the best.......BTW i'm going for the 2 tone IJN grey with a lighter shade on the tail and rear fueselageThumbs Up [tup]

I understand that someone here has pics of the navalized P-51D? I am looking for clear pics of how the arrestor hook was attached for a possible scratchbuild project for the WWII carrier aviation GB that starts next year. Thanks!!

Hi all and happy fathers day to all those who celebrated over the weekend.

I haven't actually done any modeling for quite awhile now (until yesterday) but please do not give up on me, I will finish this build.

Tom, please pass on our best wishes to your in-laws, OI hope they weren't too badly impacted.

Cheers
Darren
