Justen, which Academy P-40s do you have? By the way, I saw your Jug at Ace and I think it's rather groovy...

Hey thanks! I'm pretty proud of that one.

I'm gonna do an "E" and an "N."

You're gonna do three at once?!?! You are a brave man, Steve!Smile [:)]

Count me in ... allows me to fulfill my fetish for RNZAF aircraft. So I guess that makes it an -E, -M or a -N. I think I can pick up an Eduard Profipack -M, so that might be the go ... Anyone have experience of that kit at all??

I would like to participate with the Academy 1/72 P-40B in AVG markings, the quintessential P-40 Sharkmouth. The photo is of the box art.

I'm definitely in. Probably the new 1/48 Hasegawa P-40E kit. Not sure of markings, have to go through my stash. May or June start date is OK with me. Should be fun Smile [:)].

I'd like to get my hands on the new Hasegawa P-40E when it's released. So, providing I can afford it, count me in. I'll probably do it as an Australian RAAF bird. I'm working on trumpeters P-40B at the moment actually.

Woo-hoo! First in line!

Count me in for a pair of 1/72 Academy Hawks OOTB. I think do a pair of MTO birds.

edit* Who am I kidding.....I'm gonna throw a couple of True Details cockpits in these suckers. OOTB no more!

BTW, I'm gonna do one "E" and one "N."

Caio for now!

This is preliminary, as the build won't start until later in the year, probably May or June. But I've been working on the build logo as well as a 'Foto Forum' where anyone participating in the build can go for reference or inspiration. When the latter is finished I'll post a link.

Some basic info:

1) Any model, in any scale, of the Curtiss P-40 will be eligible.
2) 'What-ifs' are more than welcome.
3) You may submit as many models as you like
4) There are no restrictions; you can build 'em SOB or you can go nuts with the brass and resin or you can even scratchbuild if you like.

Reference can be had at The Hawk's Nest.

This is a brand-spankin'-new site and I'm adding stuff bit by bit. I'll try to accommodate any requests for specific reference photos. Photos of the models from this GB will be posted there as well...

More info will be added as necessary.

Here's a list of P-40 variants...

XP-40
P-40
P-40A (one airframe only - not a production variant)
P-40B
P-40C
P-40D
P-40E
P-40F
P-40G
P-40J (This would fall under the 'what-if' category, as none were built)
P-40K
P-40L
P-40M
P-40N
P-40Q
P-40R

All equivalent export variants are included; Tomahawk, Kittyhawk, etc.

Here's the GB badge:

IMPORTANT NOTE!!! - If you intend to participate, you may use the badge in your sig, but I ask that you host the image yourself. PLEASE do not link directly from my photo host. Thank you...

If you're interested in participating, please squawk it here in this thread and give info as to what kit(s) you'll be using and what specific subject you might be building.

More coming soonly...
