i see we're getting into the issue of MO-NEY. what do i have you ask? $60. thats it. i had like $200 saved for a compressor and airbrush, but i kinda, sorta started using it for other crap. oh well.....

welcome tiger! glad to have ya here.

reb- the rust looks fine to me. it looks like a fairly new jagdtiger, so it wouldnt be that worn. i concentrate on streaking dirt and oil on her.

tanky- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.........again. you guys need to check out the reprimand tanky got in the armor forum for his post. nothing like a good zing, but its still pretty funny.

I just rolled spare change, I had $135 in coins! Now, I have $0 again! I am going to play airsoft all weekendwhich is going to be sweet! I leave in one hour. Cost $70 to get my guns fixed, $60 for ammo plus tax. damn. I almost put dragons new Flak 88 in my basket, I should have, then my mom would have ended up paying fo it. Big Smile [:D]

well, Im out for the weekend, which is going to kick ass!

i cant remember when i finished school....seemed such a long time ago.
u guys look crazy to me right now....the most i spent on a kit was $50!! i look for the cheapest kit i could find and then scratch everything that is flawed in it... like my ZERO and WILDCAT from the last YG GB...together they cost about $14!! turned out to be a really big headache!!! but i made them look awesome!! the 7TP im doing right now cost $8!! and it is an awesome kit!!! almost no flaws!! i only found 4 sinkholes in the whole thing!!!
sure i could buy a lot of kits now ($230) but im savin that for a car: a hot rod!!! YES!!!
(all i do in my job (my video store) is draw, and watch polish soap operas)
reb- that dio looks great right now!!! the only thing i have to say....is that Berlin or baghdad?? that building looks kinda clayish.. and thick.

OK to be honest all said and done, I have now spent over 200$ on the T-90 conversion. However, I have another 130$ save up with another 150 on the way. I feel happy.Big Smile [:D]

Ok All I have left to do is the Turret and Upper hull.
Here are progress pics.
The front before tracks.

The back before tracks.

Side before tracks.

The tracks.

Front after tracks.

Back after tracks.

Side after tracks.

I airbrushed the lower chasis with Model Master Acryl Olive Drab. I got just the look I wanted. And I brushed Testors Burnt Aluminum on the tracks.

Hey Double-d
I also am stinge when it comes to buying kits, as I would rather spend a few dollars on the cheap airfix kit and scratchbuild all the detail, then spend $30 on a more advanced kit which you can build from the box with no mods!... were's the fun in doing that???

nice work on that sherman!! those tracks look great!!
well i guess the 7TP is done, i just need to put some more stowage on: finnish an axe (that took me an hour to scratch9burning sprue)) finnish a box, weather a bag, put straps on a rifle..
so seeing as i still have 5 days till i go to poland i will do a 1/72 F-14 (the smithsonian kit got it a long time ago, finnished it without any paint and jsut recently i decided to cut it apart and redo it..)

only reason i dont do as much scratchbuilding right now is cuz im a rivet counter, and i want just the right thickness o plastic to build with. i hate having to sand a flat piece of plastic to thin it slightly, and then find out i went to far, or not far enough, or theres bumps......

progress pics soooooooon!!!!!Big Smile [:D]

.........oh, BTW that was just my 1,000th post here. just to mention...........

OK, the 7TP is offically done!!! (i still have to finnsh the boxes and stuff (just paint))
i will get pics up (didnt take any progress cuz i was too lazy to get batteries)
REFLECTIONS ON MIRAGES 1/35 7TP; that kit was AWESOME!!!!! one of the best i have done!!! the kit was flawless, i understand why they would make the track links to long cuz the suspension was moveable so if someone wanted to put it in a dio theyd have no problem w/ tracks. the entire kit had only 4 sinkholes all were covered up after assembly, the rivets were awesome (even though i lost a lot of them when i sanded. the seams were all easily filled!! its a great kit I HIGHLY RECOMEND IT!!! IT WAS EASY ON ASSEMBLY TO SO IF YOU WANT AN EASY GONE STRESSLESS KIT THIS IS IT!

now, progress on the f-14, well first let me tell you what was wrong with it, i spent an hour looking for all the pieces that were scattered everywhere, i lost one elevator, which i scratchbuilt with balsa, i sanded most of the seams which still have to be puttied, the paint has drip marks that i sanded, has some uneven fits, and right now im drilling out the holes for the engines...
i have just 4 more dayz to finnish it

I agree with gringe about why i don't scratch as much. Howevr, for things like the nterior i scratch, where the width is not visible it's OK and i go ahead and scracth.

Nice work YG, and congrats gringe on 1K

As for the BMP, well, erm, ahem, the tracks, well, they sort of....suck. sort of REALLY suck. I have severe doubts as to wether they are going to fit together at all. So I have been advised to get aftermarket. any suggestions? (It's a BMP-2) If so, keep it simple. With luck and a few bucks this will be my first non-out of the box kit!

Well its done. Finally.
Tamiya's 1/35 M4A3 Sherman. Painted in Model Master Acryl Olive Drab. And some Testor scale black. Its built OOB. Its not weathered because Im going to put it in a dio eventually and I will weather it accordingly then. I will also add the commander and extras when I do the dio. So here it is.
I probably need to add another dull coat to some of the decals again.

Very good. Very very good.

More Questions:
How would I do smoke stains on a gun barrel (which I have painted steel for lack of a better color)
Also:
the instructions call for these grill things to be painted the smae color as the tank, but I want them to be a little draker so they stand out. If I paint them black first, then spray the whole thing with green, do you think any of the black will show through and give the grills a sense of depth?

Whooops, just saw that I didn't tell what model I'm going to build yet...

I'll make the 1/72 Revell Me-262 A-1. (I'm working on it right now...)

Cheers,
