Matt, you have made a typo. You seem to have typed virginia, when everyone knows the proper name is "Merrimack."

Stalin would be proud comrade.....

personally, id go for the thompson, but thats just me. i found a great little shop in paris last summer that had a thompson in it, but i doubt my parents would have let me get it. U.S. customs and all. besides it was pretty expensive for what i could get.

other nice guns in that list id like: MP-40, bull pup submachine gun, most any one of the butt-less shotguns

RAMMESTEIN ROCKS ALL, COMRADE!!!!!!

guns? I like all AKs, the Druganov, PK (LMG) Mp-40, Mosin-Nagant, Mp5, basically everything. Theres no [point in me writing this, but I'm all screwed up today, so i will. I got up at 11:00 today, and put my shirt on backwards and inside out. There was no one home to correct me, so i'm wearing that until i notice it cause i'm looking for my shirt pocket to see if a little piece with flew of the sprew when i cut iot got stuck in their. It turns out it was under the boiler, so i sifted threugh the spiders and trilobite skeletons to find it. and now i need to take a shower. bad.

id like to see what it would take to get some of that stuff through ship customs. they say its the weakest of our 'gates' so to speak.

comrade, my brother does that sometimes. he'll write to me and tell me what time he got up and stuff. he's an engineer, what can i say.

tanky, looks good man. tell me you'll do a little scratchwork to go with all that AM!!Big Smile [:D]Wink [;)]

as for me....i got back into playing panzer general II lately. what a great game. just wish they had a bastogne, falaise, early war europe, and pacific war maps. that would make it great!! im now working on the water for the monitor virginy vignette. im doing it in levels. im using a tile caulk that dries clear. nowim just having trouble getting the right wave pattern

Of course I am. Not that I have a choice. I have to scratchbuild many things just ot get the conversion up to par and fix the broken pieces. Not to mention I have to either HEAVILY modify the front glacis plate, or scratch an entirely new one. Oh yeah and I'm building a driver's compartment for it. So yeah I guess I'm gonna do a teeny bit of scratchwork too. Wink [;)]

Looking foreward to that one tanky!

I painted the first figure for my dio. Its taken 2 days for one fig with SS pea pattern camo. And I still have to give him a wash drybrush and paint his face. I have 24 figs planned for the dio, the majority wearing this camo. Damn it!

ok, here's some update pics. first ones are of my bunker, the last of the monitor/virginia

-this is how i started the base, cutting a piece of insulation foam to size. in this case i used three smaller pieces i had on hand. i used a small saw to cut, and an a four sided file to shape it into a circle like the base

-next, i traced the outline of the bunker with marker keeping away from the construction glue ( its a bitch to cut). once i get the outline, i score across the area to be removed, and make side and end cuts, to make it easier to remove the foam

-next i test fit the bunker, get the right depth, and plan out where sh!t will go.

-im now working on groundwork details, like the trench walls, made from lengths of balsa. i also have got all structural work on the bunker done, and have done a wash, drybrushing, fading and ware on it and the camo paint, but there's still more to do

these last pics are of the monitor/virginia. as you can see, most of the water work is done, and the smoke from the stacks and guns still needs to be added. i hand painted the water, boats, and the flags. abd yes there are 13 stripes on the Union. tell me how it looks. criticisms and critiques much welcomed

little more in a little bit.

Looks Great, Gringe. Looking forward to that bunker!

As for my BMP (That's what i'm building for this Build, right? I've forgotten) Ive just ordered some replacement tracks. ( http://store.yahoo.com/internethobbies/ar135sovbmp1.html )I've also painted the lower hull and turret. I'm running out of green paint, But it's come out pretty well. I got some sort of green dust on the lower hull. After I sprayed, a sort of green dust formed on the flat bottom, that I had to wipe off with a paper towel. What did I do wrong?
Ok, Now I am looking at maybe doing a bit of weathering on this kit. I'm going for the look of a vehicle that's been in service for about a year, and has been through a fair number of combat excercises, but has recently been cleaned up.
I also bought 4 soviet MR men for the kit ( http://store.yahoo.com/internethobbies/135scalsovmo.html ), a book on how to paint em ( http://store.yahoo.com/internethobbies/kahowtoparem.html ), and 2 othe books ( http://store.yahoo.com/internethobbies/oswarpacgrou.html , http://store.yahoo.com/internethobbies/ossovblocelf.html )

And while youre at it, I could use some feedback. Fitting with my personality perfectly, I am planning on making a "Commie GB." Build antything, anytime, even what if and sci-fi, as long as it was piloted or used by good Comrades. Anything from the USSR, GDR, other warsaw pact nations, Yugoslavia, PRC, north korea, vietnam, Cuba, down to the Paris Commune, and if you can get decals for an F-16 from the People's republic of America, it would also be welcome. Any Thoughts?

Ok, the kit's coming along good, despite a severe shortage of green paint (Yes, flat green. it actually looks good on the tank.) So, ill have to get more of that from a local hobby shop. While I'm there, can you make any suggestions for colors i'll probably need for the Figures. Like:
Gun Metal (for guns)
Wood (for gunstocks)
Earth (for mudstains)

id get another color to go with the wood for the gunstocks. wood is generally a lighter color. get a brownsh red is my advice, along with a darker brown, and use the wood and darker brown to add wood grain to the stocks. check what the figures are wearing, where they are, and if you can't find out what the kit maker suggests, just go off the box art. make sure to get white, black, and a few colors that are similar to the one's youll be using for the figs, and u can use them to shade and highlight. if you find 'skin tones' as the makers may call them, don't pay attention that much. they tend to be off, or too pink. again, going by sight is a good play. if you can bring a pic of the figs with you to check
