I have a whole room to myself for my models, well more than half a room.
Finally, my 234/3 Armored Car is completely built and painted totally, just need to flat (spray on whole thing?) and weather it. I'll post pics when I'm done with everything after the competition tomorrow. The camo scheme is awesome!

lucien harpress- i think your finnish looks good in some places and then some areas are....sub par, i think it was the result of either: unclean surface (clean the model with soap and water to get rid of finger prints and oils) for better adhersion, OR don't feel if its wet or dry, leave it for 2-3 days to completely dry, u might have touched a wet spot, OR keep it in a dust-free place cuz dust is attracted to nice, clean, finnishes *shakes fist*
BUT besides that i think it looks awesome!
ygmodeler- if your anything like me remodeling (or cleaning) ur modeling space is USELESS!!!! it will just get cluttered, and messy again!! and with stuff you dont even need!!! (i.e (whats on my desk now): CD case, russian army medal, switch blade, sprues (from last Young GUN GB!!!!) a broken floppy disk (with pinstriping on it hehehe) AND, TONS of branches glued together (was supposed to be a tree for the battle of the bulge GB but i failed...)

ygmodeler4- Yeah, this project was pretty boring, too, but I was able to make the best of a bad situation.

Speakin' of which, here's a couple pictures of the C-54. It's done up in the scheme of Gail Halvorsen's "Candy Bomber" of the 1948-48 Berlin Airlift.

[image]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/LHprs/candy.jpg[/image]
Here you can really see how bad the finish on this thing really is. I had to use paint from a spray can (not one made for models, either.), and the results are less than stellar. I'll admit it's not my best work. But with Track practice and school and the time crunch I think I had about 10 hours to get this done.

[image]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/LHprs/candy2.jpg[/image]
You can't tell, but the two green nose decals are supposed to meet in the front. They didn't, and I don't own any decal setting solution. So, I just left it alone. Like I said, not my best work. (The wire on the nosewheel is to keep the nose down. No need for nose weight that way.)

The actual box/tarmac is done, except for paint, that is. I'll get some completed pics this weekend, tarmac and all. Then I'll turn it in and possibly never get it back.

excellent. I'm really looking forward to the nats. It's gonna rock. I'm gonna bankrupt myself there!! It'll be great to meet some junior modelers from around the world too (if they come). And show 'em the good ol' US home boys are just as good!Big Smile [:D]Wink [;)]

this is young guns one, so its relevant. I'm almost done painting it, only need to make the wheels a rubber mix and spray the underside of the model. Then weather with my MIG powders and take it to the contest tomorrow in Fairfax. O, and get the rest of the "tree branches" done.
wish me luck

Your lucky evrey project I've had so far is boring. Had to make a m,ap of China during the Tang China with the GRand Canal on it then talk about it. Really boring. Good luck on the project .

Well, Pre-Calc, but who's counting? We're in the Calc book by now, anyway. (Junior) I hate math, too, but for some reason I took it even when I could have stopped at Algebra II. Angry [:(!] Whaddaygonna do?

Believe it or not, the C-54 is about 98% finished. It's definitely not the prettiest bird on tarmac, but I was saved by the kit's wealth of decals. Windows, marking, even wing de-icer boots. It turned out rather well, I think.

This weekend I figure I'll do the actual Calc part of it, something about making a box with the greatest possible volume given the dimentions of the edges. You have to personalize the sucker, so I'll turn it into a tarmac. Big Smile [:D] I love when you can combine homework with pleasure!

tank, I dont know about the competetion at the nationals, but I assume it would not be 10 year olds. Most parents would realize that the National competetion is not the right place to start out and if they did let the kid, that would be their problem because I bet there are going to be wonderful, amazing junior models that could easily beat the 10 year old.

Anybody know how the junior competition is at the nats? I mean, I'd hate to have a T-72 use a resin conversion to get it to a T-90 scratchbuild an interior for it, only to find I'm competing against a 11 year who built his first model... (The T-90 w/ scratch interior is my next project BTW)

Hey, count me in with a 1/144 C-54. I need to have it done by Monday (for a Calculus homework project, go figure), so it's gonna be a real quick glue up and spray paint sort of build. It won't be winning any contests. I can get some pics of it already, if it'd be okay.

actually, scratching an interior is quite easy. I'm doing one for my tiger I. Its just a down hatch interior about 70% accurate. I thought it was going to be hard but once I got going I found it to be pretty easy. So I say, go for it! Thumbs Up [tup]

i should really enter a competition....ive been keeping so many models from the public!!! id feel bad winning with a 10yr old, kinda like taking candy from a baby.... but then a gain id hate to lose to a 10 yr old....so i guess GIVE ME THAT CANDY!!!! *rips lolly pop from hand* *runs to corner and eats treat*
i havent ordered my 7TP yet, didnt have a chance to...(tennis team) but when i have time and a credit card ill order it! its pretty small so it should take very long, but maybe ill make (scratch) the interior to give it more detail and more work (yes, i love a challenge)

I'm gonna stick with juniors for the IPMS regionals though, I'm talking Noreastcon, baby!!!!!!! And I'll definitely stay in juniors when I enter the nats. But for my local contest, it's regular all the way for me. Hey, gringe, how many juniors usually compete in Noreastcon, anyway? I'm comin' this year, so you better watch out!Wink [;)]
