Man i'm still waiting for my stuka to arrive!, I've got a regional comp comming up soon which I'm going to enter my 1/72 B24D which I've been working hard on for nearly 6 months with lots of bomb bay detail and extra PE parts , just need to paint and weather it and she'll be done!

ok, scer for vehicle foliage heres a couple ways to do it.
Supplies--
-small root from weed, wire or twig. (weed root will look the best)
-some oregono leaves- cokking spices
-Woodland scenics polyfiber (method 2 only)
-areosol (spelling?) spray adhesive

method one
1. twist and paint wire or paint weed root.
2.spray the adhesive to the twig, root or wire
3. sprinkle the Oregano leaves on the branch

done.

Method 2
1. same as the previous method
2. cover your branch with a little bit of polyfiber
3.spray the adhesive to th polyfiber and branch
4. sprinkle the Oregano leaves onto the polyfiber.
this will give it more of a fluffy, filled up shape.
this is also the method for making trees.

last mehtod is the PE leaves, I have never tried them so I cannot comment.

u got NEthing u use for grass on bases? use some of that. if u dont have it, try to pick some up frm the train section next time, woodland scenics got something like that. their bushes work too. n look at some PE next time. its pretty easy to bend to shape, n then paint. looks good to.

(nother option: try some fine steel wool on the marks, it mite tak um off)

hey, Guess great minds tink alike. I was also planning on entering the regular section at the next event, no more juniors.
scer, this is why I think juniors is not all theat hard. Its got to be different in all places but the contests I have been to, there is a 10 yr old kid who enters his very firts model, and Here a 16 yr old easily takes the first prize away from him. I'd like to go to the bi guys so I can sort of know where I fit into them.

as for the bushes. I 'll get to those in a minute. I'm really busy right now.

Is juniors really that not hard? I plan to enter my still unfinished model (just needs finished paint and weathering) I did for YG 1 at the upcoming competetion in Juniors. At the competition I went to in October (didnt enter anything), there were only 5 or so Junior models, and that's scattered over all the categories.
BTW, what do you guys use for plant camo? I heard weeds and things like that, what do you guys use? (there are a couple of screwed up silly putty marks on top of my model, planned to cover them up with "camo")
thanks

The monkey has decided. Since I got this model April 2nd it counts. I shall not be doing the corsair like I thought. I'm doing a Revell 1/32 Panavia Tornado completely OOB (except decals maybe.....) Hope that's okay.

FINALLY! some competition!

Well, you know how we had that discussion in the last thread about no competition. Well, I finally had some. The judges decided to delete the Juniors catagory since there were only 2 entries and make a military category and auto catagories.
I was very happy to recieve the best of show military against a very nice U-boat and some sort of german plane. And they were not juniors, that just boosts my confidence.Approve [^]

anybody else make it to the Hobby town contest?

dont worry you dont have to rush!

Anthony, looks good. I think it going to be too hard to tell if you over did the salt effect until you remove the salt. I wonder why I have yet to try this method? Guess its time to model DAK.

Yes! we can start!!!

Now I don't want anyone thinking I started early... it was already started before but I was able to use it for this GB. Here is what I have done so far on my StuG IV, where there is salt is where I am planning to put chipped paint but that may change b/c I may have over done the affect, what do you think?Disapprove [V]
