That's excellent. As head of the build, I will not cast a vote, but the rest of you feel free to do so.

I'm tossing up between building a MiG-25, MiG-29 or an Su-27. The build will definitely be in 1/72 though. I'll let you know later.
As for the badge, I'll cast a vote for mine Big Smile [:D] Tongue [:P]
Cheers,

John, Tanky, Matt I like the content of John's badge a little better than Matt's, but Matt's meets the new size limits on badges. I can understand the necessity for this limit, but it sure makes it difficult to create a badge with anything other than the most simple of designs. If one starts getting the least bit complicated with the background or uses fancy script, it all disappears when shrunk down to 65 by 65 pixels.

I just can't wait till July! As for the badge, I'll show mine when I actually get done! Tongue [:P] I do need to start gathering some reference material. Anyone here built a Tu-22M before? Or know of a good Russian Bomber website? Cool [8D] Calvin

Hmm, I think I might actually build something in 1/48 for this build, instead of 1/72. Unless, of course, it's a Tu-95 or something!! Tongue [:P]
Still deciding (and trying to clear my workbench of other WIPs)
Cheers,
John

My vote is for the first Badge...both are good, but I agree with Darwin that the cool background in John's will be lost...

Took a look at the topic list...so far there is a MiG 17, 19 and 21...anyone out there up for a 15? Would be cool to see a family tree effect within this group....What say you Tanky?

Well i like both badges, but i agree that quite a bit of detail would be lost on Johns badge when shrunk to 65/65.............
I'm just happy that i'm not the one making it "For Once".............Thumbs Up [tup]

I personally like the first badge better. They are both very good, but I like to keep things simple. My only coplaint is that the text is a little blurred.

Iodni_k: Iv'e built a Tu-22M ( 1/144 scale by Minicraft). decent kit. Too bad I don't have an airbrush : my kit is still gray.

JoeRugby: I've got a MiG-15 already built. But, like I said no airbrush or skill at handpainting, So it's still gray too.

I'm open to suggestions, but what do you mean by that? I don't have a mig-15 in the stash unfortunately.

OK Tanky, slot me in for a 1/48 MiG-25. Who knows? I might have a go at an Su-24 as well! Will see later. For now, I'm finishing a few other GBs, plus a seperate build for a friend.
RE the size of my badge: it's only the size of 2 other regular badges, so as long as you don't join too many GB's (I might as well tell the ocean tide not to come in!! Tongue [:P]), but the point remains: this badge isn't really all THAT big!!
Cheers,
John

Just was thinking about the possibility of getting someone to do a 15, since we have 17, 19 and 21 covered at this point...also now a 25...Wasn't looking for you to cover the 15...just as "moderator" maybe you could suggest it to someone looking for a subject...

Maybe you could take on the build yourself, Joe? Tongue [:P]
That'd solve Tanky's problem of finding someone to build it.
Don't forget, we still need someone to build a 23, 27, 29 and 31 too! Big Smile [:D]

John

Hey y'all, I MIGHT actually have a 23 in the stash, but won't know for sure till I get things unpacked in the new digs... in retrospect a detailed inventory may have been worth the effort... Tongue [:P]

How about we start the build as of May 1st and get some activity going? I only have this GB and one other, so I can start on my Mig-17 and very likely another Mig, either 15 or 19. Leave the end date as is so those that are too busy right now can jump in as their schedules permit.

Hmmm, interesting idea darwin. I will consider that... Oh Johforster, could you provide me with the patch you designed in its original and bigger format? I like it a lot and want to put it on the top of the first page of this build.

The adjusted start date is just great. The money's in the mail for the BI-1right now, and the build-up won't take very long. My eventual goal is to showcase or include it in a small (1/72) diorama. But I'll just focus on the airplane build for this GB.

The Zwilling's almost done, too, so THAT won't interfere much. Hopefully the BI-1 will be a more "relaxing" project to unwind from the crazyness of that huge prior project. Maybe a bit of detailing inside, but that's about it. I'll know more when I see the kit.

I can't start it May 1 for various reasons. I moved it up a week and a half though.

Tank

june 21st is good for me, all of my other GB's are either open ended or far enough along to support another project. Guess that i'll just have to finish up the stealth planes GB and my Me 109 for the North Afrika GB.

Bring on the Red Star!!!

Here is the badge, full size, Tanky.
I don't like doing doubles on builds, so I'll build a MiG-29. I'll see about the MiG-25 later.
Cheers,
John
