Cool [8D] Looks like I'll be ready to start this GB when I get back from Hawaii. Looking forward to starting my MiG-21. I've been wanting to build one of these for quite a while.

My my! Rick, building a jet? What has the world come to? There's always room for more.

PLUS the build is now officially Kremps sponsored.

Don't worry people, I'm still here! Just a bit snowed under, what with uni exams and 4 other GBs going.....well, at least I don't get bored too easily! Only problem is, even when I get some time, I have to get money!! Having gotten my licence and started uni in the same year, it's hit pretty hard on my bank account. Not a lot of $$ to spend atm other than on travel to/from and uni textbooks! Oh well, I'm sure I'll get through it...
However, I'm still here, still planning on building the Foxbat. What are the start finish dates please?
Cheers,
John

I have built a few stovepipes over the years, but mostly 1/72 scale. The Mig 21 will be something a little different for me for sure.

BTW, Kremps sends her best & will be over soon with your hot chocalate & Oreo.

Not sure of which kit yet....time to hit ebay. Big Smile [:D]

Actually I had rogered up for a MiG-23 and -27, but in 1/72. The "duplication" doesn't bother me in the least, over to the group at large Cool [8D]

You aren't THE John Forster that Kremps speaks so fondly of, are you? Disapprove [V] I knew there would come a day I would be one-upped..... such is the way of her fickle heart. Wink [;)]

Hey Tom, join the build or get booted, mate!! (My power is going to my head). J/K of course. Feel free to hang around just for the conversation that you seem to bring...

Jules, BTW I think Sergei mentioned he wanted to do a prop driven something- MiG-3 I think he said.

Tanky - just call me the comic relief of the GB... and who knows I might get interested in one of those "fringe" builds I listed above... too bad Monogram doesn't make that 1/48 PBY anymore. I saw one last summer and didn't pick it up. Decided I would get it later... Curses!!!

Hmmm... Tanky is bevoming despotic here.. I smell a coup forming! Wink [;)]

Tom, that's what happens when a guy gets a little authority, even if self given. Power Corrupts even 15 year olds. I think what Tanky is saying, if you aren't going to join in the build you can't join in the fun. Why not build us one of those Fringe models ? Just leave off the lace Smile [:)].

Rick, when you get going with the Aires detail set, let me know how it fits. I've been wanting to do the Academy mig-21 with it, but since the ill fitting mig-29 I built, im not so sure.

Will do Tanky. Most Aires sets require a bit of surgery, but I haven't done any dry fitting on this one yet.

Having a bit of trouble locating a Mig-23 in 1/48.

Any of you gurus know where I might find one stashed away on the internet?Tongue [:P]

The Revell Foxbat just arrived in the mail yesterday, and looks a bit dated. All raised panel lines which are a pain. I've never rescribed a model before so this may be a learning experience.Black Eye [B)]

I'm rarin to go Tanky, but I probably won't be able to start for a couple of weeks. I've got 3 other builds going on & that's my limit. Should have at least one finished next week, so then I can start looking at the Mig.

Yeah Tanky I'm looking forward to startingThumbs Up [tup] The Academy I-16 is apretty simple kit and there isn't much point adding any extra detail in the pit except the seat Belts cause none of it will be seen when the fues halves are closed, I am gonna add some rolled PE gun barrels and ring and bead sight to try and spruce it up a little though.....

I personally can't start for a while. There are 3-4 kits I have to finish up first... I'll be starting by august for sure though... hehe. I'm going to add a resin ejection seat to my su-27. It is from cutting edge and is SUPREMELY well detailed.

But first i must finish Bf-109, T-90, Fw-190, SA-2...

Which SA-2 are you building? I built one of the old 1/72 Airfix kits many years ago and have another one still in the box. I also have the Trumpeter 1/35 version with launcher and the one with the transporter truck that are still in the box. I keep looking at them and wanting to start. They keep getting pushed down the priority list by Mig Group Builds that some "armour guy" starts up. Big Smile [:D] Evil [}:)] Wink [;)]

I'll be a late start too - got some work travel going on, and the den/hobby room still looks like a moving van blew up in it...

Estimated start time on the Farmer should be 4th of July weekend...just finished an Me-262 and am about to crack an X1 for the OOTB GB. Want to get the rocket plane rolling before I start the MiG...Really looking forward to this one though...checked out the PE fret...this is it's own kit, should be interesting fer sure...Lately it seems if it were not for Group Builds I would not get projects completed!!!

Mig-29 progress:

Vertical stabilizers are on as well; pilot still needs to be finished before installation in the cockpit. Then I can button up the fuselage and start filling seams. Big Smile [:D]

Yeah, my flash was misbehaving. I'll take a few more this evening after I button up the fuselage.

You need to install some AAA to protect the SAM site from Labs. A ring of water spray bottles is usually effective.

I was able to start the little BI-1 today. The instructions call for a light grey interior, and because I have no idea of the actual color, I'm just going to use my standard grey primer. It'll work well enough, I believe. I should get some some pics of the completed inside soon. (This little bird isn't gonna take long at all!)
