John, Keep your Mig-25, since you called it first. I'll just build that monster just for the love of the hobby!!! Big Smile [:D]

Here we go...1/72 Scale MiG-19S "Farmer" KP with Czechmaster Photoetch details. Raised detail {Dead [xx(]}, not alot of flash, but plenty to work on, decals look pretty good as well...am going to use SnJ Spray Metal w/polishing powder for the finish. Waiting until 21 June for the start.

John and JS

I would certainly love to accomodate your request...but be honest...any picture worth while of a Wannabe would have any All Black in it...either running over, by or around a Wannabe...

All friendly rivalry aside what is your call on the Lions tour...or the Woodward Expedetion...

PS...but from her physical description I think I spotted Kremps in a Six Nations program from a few years back...Loose Head Prop from Swansea...she truly is multi talented...

Yeah Joe Old Kremps sure does give it to em in the scrumThumbs Up [tup]

Hard call that one to mate, i could have sworn the Wallabies would have taken out the last Tri Nations but it was S A who came out with the trophy, Thats whats great about the competition, so many good teams that are always very competative.....We probably won't see much of the Games here, Rugby League kinda dominates the TV here....

Some news from this front-

The BI-1 arrived in the mail a few days ago, and from a first look I can say flash is the name of the game. Every part will need cleanup. On the plus side, there seems to be a fair amount of plastic for a kit this small (just under 4 inches), about 20 parts. I'll be able to get pics of it later this week. This should be... interesting.

Hey all-
Starting the unpacking process and as I suspected I have a MiG-23 - also a MiG-27. How about I do both? Of course, I'm still a long way from being ready to build - not even sure I'll be up and running by 21 June, but the end date is far enough out there that I dont think I'll have any problems.

To paraphrase voltaire:
I do not understand a word you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.

But I do understand some russian. Ochen horasho. Ya visu vas zaftra! still eludes me, though.
Over the years, I have accumulated a list of the most useless Russian vocabulary.
Among these words are:
Chicken
Stupid

I know a bit of German, all WWII related- lightning, lightning war, forbidden, yes, no, attention, military air, civil air, equivilant of Mrs., Ms., and Mr., etc. That's about it.

No Russian at all, though, so I'm lost through most of this.

I got as far as "Hello, Sir. [insert question here]? [insert another question here]?" Big Smile [:D]
I'll have to ask the German exchange student at my school what that means...

Ahh, I love killin' time until this build starts!

not to continually stray us off topic, but here's a completey random query to the group - anyone have an image of the emblem/insignia/badge (whatever you care to call it) of the Soviet era Air Defense Forces???

And if you can translate a couple words for me into Russian, even better Cyrllic, that would be great too :) Just let me know

"Strike"

and

"Adversary Air Defense"

My limited digging about the internet showed that as the currend Russian Federation air defense emblem. Was it the same "back in the USSR?" I was looking for something along the lines of this:

Thought I'm coming to learn that these style were for the Army, and the Air Defense guys were a different branch...

I might have to make something work with this one, even though it's more recent than I was looking for

Tanky and Comrade Sergei:
My Russian is very poor now. When I first joined the Air Force in 1963, they sent me to Syracuse University for Russian Linguist training for 9 months. 10-12 hours per day Mon-Fri and some on Saturday. I came out of that with about a 5,000 word vocabulary, read, write and speak. We were supposed to be able to eavesdrop on Russian military radio transmissions and do instantaneous/simultaneous translation. I haven't used that S _ _ _ for over 40 years, so I have forgotten most of it. Most of what I remember would be considered X-rated or very offensive in polite society at least. Sergei, the two phrases you asked about are "Very Good" and "See you tomorrow".
Tanky, "Ya gauvrao pa rusky, tolka nimnoga". My spelling and grammar are atrocious.

well, the house unpacking is going alright (seems endless). I have the tables set up in my "den" (office, hobby room, whatever you prefer), and a spray hood on order from MicroMark so I don't need to treck to the garage on the other end of the house. I have the 2 Flogger kits (-23 and -27) out, I just haven't unearthed the rest of my gear yet to actually start work. Just as well, if I started modelling right now, I'd probably never unpack the rest of the house!!

But soon I'll be business - and I have a new faster compter, DSL, and a photobucket account ready for pics
