Now, do I go for a Type XXIII U-boat, or a 1/72 He 111???????

The masking on the canopy of the He111 would make me seriously consider the U-boat.....

Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]
Yeah, the canopy looks like a bit of a task, but as a member of the 'Fringe' you have to be slightly 'off tap' to actually look forward to masking a canopy like the 1/72 111Alien [alien]

Tough choice.

You don't see a lot of model XXIIIs though, do you?

Karl

Good point Karl!Approve [^]
But I think thats due mostly to the price of the kit![:0]
It would be the MPM Special Navy kit.
Might try and do both.................................funds permiting that is.

Sean Both would be excellent choices! Thumbs Up [tup] especially if you could do both Tongue [:P]

If it's the Hasegawa kit I found the canopy masking fairly straight forward actually. The crisp new moulds make following the framing with your blade pretty easy. Of course there are precut mask if you should decide to take that route.

I'm going the pre-cut mask route with the He177, another Luftwaffe bomber with a fish bowl for a cockpit!

As Bob said, both would be kind of cool.

It's the Dragon 1/72 kit.
But it looks OK, and with a bit of tweaking should turn out to be a fantastic kit.
I already have a resin engine for it, just to take things up a notch.
Can't seem to shake my aversion to OOB kitsSad [:(]

The biggest pain will be spraying all those camo dots on the 111.
Might have to go with a reverse masking technique.

And I might be on a winner with the XXIIISmile [:)]
With a little more prompting the missus may just buy it for me for Christmas!!!Big Smile [:D]

I'm going to have to go to HL and see what they have. I thought I had some stuff that would work here, but I can't find them now. Good excuse, huh??

roadkill happy hunting, let us know how it turns out!

Sean Hasegawa is distributed by Dragon so I assume it is one and the same as I am not familiar with a He 111 in a Dragon boxing. Which varitation of the He 111 is it? Good luck with the XXIII uboat!

Tom I sent you an email about a week ago with a GIF editor attached, did this get through ok? Let me know if it didn't and I'll re-send.

Not so good Bear, I was on top for the first few weeks thanks to my goalies (Belfour & Luongo) but I've slipped to fifth place in the last couple of weeks.

How's yours going?

This one is still a ways away, but looking at the other GB shedules & what's on my bench, I think I can join in on this one.  Put me down for a Tamiya 1/48 Fairey Swordfish.
