Dave, I had a thought that I am carrying over from the suggestions and feedback section http://www.finescale.com/FSM/CS/forums/542617/ShowPost.aspx

In a nutshell - Back in the BoB GB, I wanted to go back and see some finished pics of other's builds but had no idea what pages they were on.  For the Canadian GB, when participants complete their build, I add a note that tells what page their pics are on.  I know some people keep their pics only for a short time on what ever digital image hosting website they use but it in the meantime it can help others view their pics (I like to keep my pics up for the duration of a build and a little bit afterward).  Just a thought?Thumbs Up [tup]

BTW - the new forums must have altered my particpant name, my screen name is "jboutin" not the other one...Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]

Jay... I have no idea how "that" happened! Must send a note to the administrator. LOL

As for your suggestion absolutely. I've seen it on other GB like North Africa and was already planning on doing just that.

As for the new site, seems we can't access any of the buttons or anything like that from our mac comuters. I tried switching to (gasp) explorer but it didn't help. (sigh) I'll have to save all my emotes for posts from work.

Jules, welcome back! I hate it when my paycheck gets messed with. Looking forward to some pics of that boat!!!

Dave this is weird, once I quote your post I can see the image just fine. It must be either something your MAC browser is adding or the way the Community Server software interprets the HTML from your browser (I bet I can guess which one it is).

I'm using Firefox at the moment btw.

Cheers

Very interesting. Oh well, I'll give them a few weeks to work things out and hopefully it will be fixed. Are you using firefox on a mac? I'm not an IT type guy so I just expect these things to work the way they're supposed to and if they don't I kick em!

I just looked up firefox on the web and it doesn't support OS9 which is what I'm using which is probably part of my problem. I guess the day has come to upgrade. SIGH!!!!

That is the "Superfly" cartoon character from joecartoon's website.  If you google joecartoon, you will find it, but if you are easily offended, don't go there.  I'm usually not easily offended but while funny some of it is rather crude.  I nearly died laughing with the Superfly cartoons though.  Browser beware...

Dave, you have it set up so you recieve email notification about someone posting to your GB don't you,  I saw you had replied very quickly after I posted it....keaner!

Actually no I don't... STOP POSTING JULES!!!!! No just kidding, it was purely coincidence. In fact when I first read your post Jay the Oilers Avatar was still showing and I was scratching my head wondering what the heck you were sniffing (besides modeling glue duh). wasn't until I posted a reply that I saw the new avatar. Thanks for the site Jay but in the best interest of my employment status I will probably not go there. :)

BTW: Anyone recognize my avatar? Anyone? Anyone?

Isn't it William J. "B.J." Blazkowicz from the old Wolfenstein 3D and Spear of Destiny games?

Yeah Dave, I don't go there during work either, I save it for home.  I really don't know about your avatar - self portrait maybe?

BTW the sanding for the Boly is vvveeerrryyy slow.  I now have the starboard fuselage and wing done, I have the port stuff and the elevators still to do, then I have to scribe it all...It had better be worth it.

David Voss has a post that explains the new post ranking system that he enabled from the new software.  I don't think it adds much to the Forum personally, but I don't object to it either.

so now Joe can congratulate us on our new "dot" ... just doesn't have the same ring to it...

I decided IF I can get this GB in my build will be the S-100, not sure which boat I will model but I am sure pickings will be slim as there is only one set of AM decals I have seen for this kit...

Seems like Joe kinda gave up on the congratulations/toasting posts some time ago.  It's been sporadic at best.  Had to be a lot of effort trying to keep track of 30,000 active members.

They're not 'dots', they're balls!

Now we can congratulate each other on gaining an extra ball every now and thenWink [;)].

Whoops spoke too soon, now I don't see any balls/bubbles/light bulbs/dots/globes/ what ever they are.  Sad [:(]  I kinda liked them...

You know this new format for the forum is okay but I still miss some of the other stuff, like the quick reply, that was so nice...Sigh [sigh]
