Hi all great looking builds so far sorry not much to report here other than the results of my follow up appointment with the doc the origional X-rays missed the fact that 2 of my ribs are cracked not just bruised so my recovery (which is doing well by the way) will be a tad longer than previously expected on the plus side is the fact I can sit up a bit longer now so I plan on getting back to modeling
ACE??? you were NEVER an ace AN ace HOLE maybe! (Lister to Rimmer on BBC's RED DWARF) Chris"Hey GRAVITY still works"Gray

Chris I've done the cracked ribs thing a few years back so I feel for you.  Like Rick I'm glad to hear you're on the mend Thumbs Up [tup].

---edit---

Oops sorry Mike I forgot to make mention of your Wildcat, she's looking good, I'll look forward to seeing your bird with some paint on.

Cheers Darren

Well, it's certain I'm doing Tadeusz Sawicz's P.11c as I got the bombs version that comes with decals for Sawicz's mount and Aleksander Gabszewicz's too! It'll start as soon as I get back from Poland (the upcoming Wednesday)!!!!!!

P.S. I'ld like to know how to paste a badge into my signature, as I am totally clueless on this matter...........

Rudy, in order to put an image into your sig first off all, you need to make sure that your image is being hosted online, http://www.photobucket.com/ is a good service to use for this. Then, go into Update Profile and take the URL of the aforementioned image, and paste it between the image tags where it says signature. ([ img ][ /img ] minus the spaces obviously). And of course, preview the message to make sure that you have actually posted the image."  Oh and don't forget to save your changes once you're done.

Cheers

One thing, the Jug isn't being built until further notice, and the P.11c is going to to be Tadeusz Sawicz's machine, not Gnys' as what appear to be decals for Gnys' mounting were for someone else's, said in the intructions to be an unidentified aircraft. It appear's that Sawicz's count was 3 downed and 4 damaged (link: http://www.roman.wroc.pl/sawicz.html), so if the 4 damaged can be counted as 2 downed, that would be highly appreciated, otherwise I'll have to search for other Polish aces or try and match the unidentified aircraft's markings to Gnys'. ttfn

Rudy_102, the point is to build an aces aircraft.  As far as I know, damaged aircraft were never added up to count as a victory.  I am sorry but to stick by the book, I will have to say you need to find marking for an another Polish ace.  I don't mean to be a party pooper but rules are rules.Smile [:)]

Derkerderkerderker........Well, I found a pic of Stanislaw Skalski's P.11c (7 1/2 victories more or less, fogot the link), and I want to know if anyone has heard of a company that makes decals for his machine, as none of the decals supplied are any good for his machine....... any help would be highly appreciated!!

Darren, if I reply to your pm, can you see my response?

EVERYBODY, now if I was really ambitious and had the time I would want to enter a P-38 ace.  I just picked up the Skymodels P-38 Lighhtning Part I set.  It is totally amazing!  Big Smile [:D]

I bought it for Jandina III flown by Maj. Jay T. Robbins (22 victories) but it also has marking for 15 other P-38 F, G, H, J, and L's!Shock [:O] many of them aces, like Bongs P-38L (without the picture of Marge), Richard West's P-38J and even a couple European aces like Maj Rob Rogers' P-38J and Paul Sabo's P-38J.  It also has a Captured P-38G in German markings and one for an Italian pilot!  If you're a fan of P-38's you should get this decal set.

Been pretty quiet here lately.  Everyone's busy with their builds, right ?  Actually I have been working on the pit for my Jug & it's almost ready to show the world.  Pics in a day or two.

Joe, nice progress on the Wildcat pit.

What didn't you like about the belts?

Long time no post, I know! Ashamed [*^_^*]

Just realised I haven't posted any pics of the Nieuport 11, so here goes....

The Nieuport 17 is still in progress. I just need to rub down the silver and re-apply, followed by decals.

Joe-nice job on the Wildcat cockpit.  Looking forward to seeing more pics as the build progresses.

Karl-another impressive build!

The P-51A is finished.  I had some fit problems that I believe orginiated with the cockpit component fit.  I should have spent more time getting that fit correct and I think the canopy would have fit better.  Also, I made the mistake of attaching the wing tanks before the landing gear.  Lesson learned!  Still a great kit.

A little too much epoxy around the canopy and some seam issues.  However, I'm happy with the weathering techinque I tried.  I had purchased a vacuum formed canpony but decided not to use it.  Just another reason to buy another Accurate Miniatures P-51!

Jay-thanks for hosting-how's your boy doing?
