I can post come pictures if you like.

I believe the 109 at Dayton is an Bf 109G-10 which began service several years after the Battle of Britain, but I'd still like to see the pictures though.  Smile [:)] Cool [8D]

Alright I'll get them up on my site in a day or two Wink [;)]

Oh yeah, it's the Hasegawa 1/72 model...  and while I am here.. does anyone have some refs on the He111, expecially the bomb bay as this one appears to have a nice one... I probably model it open.

ok I might be going crazy, or getting normal... I'm not sure which.  But since there is a veritable drought on bombers this year I'll be doing a He-111H... I'll have to scrounge for decals as I have yet to find any good ones for this BoB units.  Most of the aftermarket ones are for generic time periods from what I see... they just say "KG26" etc.. on them..

It looks like the decals I have already have appropriate unit insignia for KG27 and KGr100 at the time of the BoB (re: www.BattleofBritain.com...) I'll just have to make sure about the letter codes and such...

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] to all of the above!  Especially that part about quitting my job to get caught up! Big Smile [:D]  Let me know how that goes Bob!!!

I've got my Ju 290 for the Atlantic and a Ar 234C that I'm working on (and maybe one or two others)before I start this one so it will be awhile.  Looking forward to it though.

I also have a couple of builds to polish off before I can start my Emil.  Looking through my stash of AM, I can't find the Ultracast seat that I was sure I had.  I'll do another sweep, but may have to place an order.

I am in the same boat as you, a Mustang and a Vampire have my attention right now...when I start my Emil I will need the bench totally clear.

Well there's only one day left before we can start building, but given we've got six months for this build I don't think there's any hurry.  Personally I have a couple of other GB's I'm committed to before I can make any serious progress on the Hurricane.

Joe, I'm building up your CD this weekend and I'll have it mailed off to you Monday or Tuesday.

Cheers

Joe I have some fairly decent reference shots of the 109 Emil’s engine and mounts and if you want them then they are yours.  Send me an email with your address and I'll burn what I have on CD for you and mail it off.

Thanks for the trade offer but it's not necessary.

Cheers

Well I opened, just opened mind you, my "stuff" for this.  The Tamiya 1/72 Bf109E3, Aires DB601 and Eagle Strike decals.  Oh wow will there be some work with the Aires DB!  Plenty of cutting to get it to fit.

Well...lets make a deal...I need some reference photos of the Bf, specifically the engine mounts and details like guns.  If some one out there has ref. material I would be willing to do a trade; for example a 1/72 scale Academy Hellcat or some decals, like a 1/48 Tally Ho sheet for a 262.  Any takers?

I hate to ask for something and not have something to offer back.

That was the Desert Scheme, Dark Earth/Midstone, but that wasn't used in the BoB.

What do you mean by "sandy" camo?  During the BoB, most Hurricanes were Dark Green/Dark Earth top side disruptive camo over Sky undersides.

Sorry Tom, I've never built the B-26 in 1/48.  I'm mostly a single engine fighter fan.  From what I've heard & seen, it's pretty typical of a 30 year old Monogram kit.  Good detail for it's day but not up to modern standards.  As I recall, it may have more fit issues than the B-24 or B-25 kits, but I've seen a few built up that were pretty spectacular.

Regards,  Rick

I memory serves me right I believe that in the last year or so there was an article in FSM on the 1/48 Marauder.  Again, relying on memory the build was quite extensive, and there were considerable fit problems.  I will check my stacks (I have almost every issue back to 1992)

Tom I have the Revell AG B-26 but haven't gotten round to building it yet.  However here are a few reviews of the kit in its Monogram boxing.

The kit has some fit issues but aside from that I think it should build up pretty nicely.

Darren  I took my release in 1995.  I did 12 years with the Airforce Reserves and I've been working for Air Canada for the last 18 years.  I guess I love airplanes.

Bob good luck with the Helmut Wick build.  I think the stippling issue is now solved but here is a pretty good build up article of the kit on MM.

Mike nice looking Emil!!

Bear that's a cool picture you've got there, when did you get out of the CAF or are you still in?

Thanks for the comments guys!

Tom,

I think it's a natural sponge, my wife says it comes in kind of a ball shape and she cuts into smaller pieces.  The surface is very irregular.
