Hi Rudy,
Could you make the badge a wee bit smaller, and with the text Airfix Farewell GB, no need for numbers.
As for me, I'm in with a MiG-15, 1/72, kit no. 00017. Why this kit? Well, at first I thought of my part builds, a Lancaster, and a Mig-21. Both of them (from 1979 and 1981 respectively) are from the end of the Golden Age. However, I wanted something new. A Short Sunderland? A favourite of mine, but I want to throw tons of AM at it, and it's going to be rare soon. So, something else....hmmm....,the skeleton? Maybe, but not this time. The re-issue Mk.1 Spit? Maybe, as a second build. The Williams F1? Oh no no no, this represents a real low in Airfix, with a overly basic kit, and possibly the worst decals (in terms of colour and fit) to ever 'grace' an Airfix kit. Even Airfix admitted to me that they couldn't get the decals to fit! The kits were bought in from Heller by Airfix, as an attempt to appeal to a younger audience.
So, there it was, the Mig-15. It's an early Airfix kit, and represents both the high and low of Airfix. For it's time it would have been a wonderful, interesting kit of a contempory enemy aircraft. However, sadly, it's still (until yesterday, anyway) being sold, now being marketed as a kit for kids, with brush and some naff paints. The moulds on this are worn, even on my 8 year old example, so that the numbers are sometimes just blurs. The fit is awful, the details either non-existant, or clumsy, and interior is just a seat and pilot, not even a control column! Just 31 parts, so, aside from getting it to fit, should be a quick build. From a wonderful kit of it's time, to a worn out kit, needing retirement.
I think I'm going all sentimental and ga-ga!
