yeah - a few guys have said that will fix it.
I question my ability to do that very well,
but I will try, for the experience at least :)

Same problem as me lol. I'll see if anywhere got them on sale lol.

Anyone know the MM colours to paint the Aces II seat??

Is this cockpit set any good??

http://spruebrothers.zoovy.com/product/ARS4191

I know Aires is good, but is it better than BlackBox, also, will it work on a Block 40 aircraft??

I did a search for Aires resin kits, but didn't get any better pictures.
This is a bunch of their other stuff (for quality comparison):
http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/ISL/Aires/Aires%20Hobby%20Models.htm

Black Box seems to be a popular choice, and the screenshots impressed
me so I jumped on it.  My current build is a P-51H and it's the first I've
done with a resin cockpit (included with the Classic Airframes 1:48).
I'm building it for my grandpa's birthday because he flew them over Alaska
for a while.  Time's getting short, but the kit is coming along quite well so I
may just finish it in time, barring any disasters!  Then I will shift gears to
"All Viper - All The Time".  That is, of course, if everything arrives in the
mail by then!  Nothing is in yet :P

I'm glad to hear some folks are already making good progress.

Cobra, you could make a sweet-looking Aggressor, or a South-American viper.
Both have really cool camouflage patterns & colors.

Yes, I saw it on ARC, but I just can't find it online lol. I'll most likely go with the Aires, I know there good.

Good to hear that your getting started! I am still collecting parts lol.

I just placed a order with Spruebrothers for the Aires F-16C cockpit set, looks like a beauty!

EDIT: I was just looking at my Seamless sucker intake and man, I am going to have to rescribe all the lines and fill gaps, this sucks!

LOL, Anthony.

I guess that kind of defeats the purpose of the "seamless" sucker intake!
How is that supposed to be an improvment over the nominal kit intake,
and why does it need re-scribing?  Are the lines flat-out wrong?

Well I had to get it because the kit came with a small mouth intake, and the one I am modeling is the large mouth. I have to re-scribe it because the lines are faint, and some places nonexistent. There were some air pockets or air holes that I have to fill as well, but the inside is seamless. I was comparing it to the plastic ones, and it looks like they left some scribing details out. I still have to check my resources through.

Quick! If anyone is interested!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&item=250032979181&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBI%3AIT&rd=1

I was bidding on it for the cockpit, but then I went and got the Aires, so I let myself be out bid, it also comes with a Seamless sucker intake!

EDIT: I got the SS intake test fitted, and it looks good:D

I'm thinking of buying the Italeri 1/12 F-16 cockpit, would that be allowed in the group build?

No matter where you go ....... there you are.

Welcome aboard Yann. I updated the list. I recently found a box of 1/72 weapons so I think i'm weakening on my earlier paint job. So I think I'm going to do mine in the stard gray pattern loaded up with some JDAMs or JSOWs.

Very Cool. This is going to be a big group build.

Well as I mentioned above, I've been waiting for things in the mail, but it's
taking longer than expected, so I picked up a 1/72 Hasegawa YF-16 today
to get started.  It seems to be a fairly quick litte build. I have done few or
perhaps no 1/72 kits before.

I am going to modify it to the F-16 ATFI:

My kit comes with the canards, but not that rectangular rear deck.

Then there's the 1/48 Hase F-16C that I will follow up with in grey
service colors:

This fighter wing operates out of the local Airbase

I just went to the hobby shop and tried to find some good spray-paints.
I ended up frustrated because I kept finding almost the right color.

So ultimately I decided to buy some small acrylic bottles that match the
FS numbers, and I'm going to try airbrushing with acrylics for the first time.  EEEK!

Ok guys, got a pic up, it's the first coat, nothing else, but it's a start. The Aires cockpit has tons of detail btw...

Can also see the seamless sucker intake.

Sorry for the pic quality, but my camera only has 2.1 mega pixels Sad [:(]

Ahh...that's nothin' a bit O' putty can't fix, Tony. Smile [:)]

Check this out: I have certinaly got my work cut out for me!

I'm trying to shape the rear deck on that AFTI version. Today I built
the foundation, tommorrow comes the plaster.  I think I'll put in a layer
of balsa filler material, then light use of Squadron white putty.
