Ok, I'll re-join. After getting an eBay account it shouldn't be hard to spend less than $20.

Posted two proposals in the above mentioned sections:
"Helo" had a moderate succsess, while "Figures" showed as good as no interest (sorry Dubau! seems you're the only one).

Things could be worse. Suppose your errors were counted and published every day, like those of a baseball player. Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off... the right pitch will come, but when it does, be prepared to run the bases.

We could try to propose this idea in each section of the forum; I'll give it a try in "Figures" and "Helicopters" (my realms).
I'm afraid that it's a little late for those new "Secret Santa" builds, but we could set a date to join for Nov 20th.

this GB will stick to 1/48 scale injection molded WWII aircraft, just so folks participating will be on familiar ground when picking out a gift. (It would be cool if other "Secret Santa" GB's crept up for other genres!)
Is there demand for another SS GB?  If so, another aircraft one, or something completely different?  I've had the following ideas:

1/72 Jets to 1960
1/48 WWII Armour
1/48 Biplanes and/or WWI

11 days left to get in on the Secret Santa fun!

For those already in, please check the list of names in the first post of this thread. If you don't see an "*" by your name, it means I don't have your address, or I forgot to note that I do. In either case- contact me.

One other note. I'll put up several reminders and try to contact everyone, but if I do not have your address in time to send it out to a "Santa", you'll be "left out in the cold" so to speak.

Again- thanks to all who will be participating, and thanks for all the encouragement and support!

Forgot to tell you an Italian on-line store. The "best" is www.misterkit.it; it's partially translated to English and has more choice on aircraft.

Yeah- it's gonna be fun! Smile [:)] Once the sign-up deadline has passed (Oct. 31st), I'll send out everyone's recipient shortly thereafter.

A few notes to all:
  • Keep in mind, just to keep it fun, don't reveal who your Santa or your recipient is until Christmas Day, so that we can all share in the surprise!
  • If you're palnning to order from a mail order company and have it sent directly to your recipient (great way to save on overseas shipping!) then let me know when you make the order, and I'll notify the recipeint to not open the package! (It would still be nice to mail a card, though.)
  • A few folks have suggested sending along other stuff- photos of the family, where you live, etc. That would be great- it's exactly the point of the GB. The models are kinda secondary- it's the fun, friendship and connections that will count in the long run.

I've updated the participants list in the first post by adding an "*" by the names that I DO have contact information for. If you've not sent me your contact ino, you can go ahead and start sending that so we don't have a mad rush at the end. You can PM me or email me directly at jonbius@gmail.com.

Again- thanks SO MUCH to everyone who is participating. We're up to 20 folks now, so this should be quite fun.
