Here's a couple of photos of the Skycrane, my second item in the 2007 build. It's not quite finished in the photo - it's had a flat coat since then to finish it off. Overall, it wasn't too bad, the problems were mostly of my own doing. I've read the nose has a few profile issues, but it all goes together ok. I was expecting a bit more detail in it and all the raised rivets made getting the decals flat a bit time consuming.

Hey guys, sorry I am the last one to chime in, but I did want to send out a HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone.

Arki, congrats on that 1000th post.  I might reach that threshold some day...  who knows.

As far as the Sturmovik.  For all intents and purposes, I completed it yesterday.  I still have some touch up painting to do and a few bits to add, but the bulk of the work is done (I'd say she is 98.3765452% done).  Thing is, my wife took a mini vacation yesterday and has the camera, so I won't be posting pics for a couple of days.Banged Head [banghead]

But hey, at least you can take me out of the running for the turtle award...  Sigh [sigh]

IL is right.  It is a big build that I know other guys on other forums are still plugging away on after a solid year of work, and you've only been going at it for a couple of months.

Frankly, you're facing the same issue in Redux with the railgun.  That's another big build that may take you the full 6 months and then some.

We've enjoyed watching the Big 'E' come together.  Just keep us posted as you work it to finish.  Hey, it'll keep IMS Uno still active for awhile.

Cheers.

Happy New Year, boys!
Have one on me!  Party [party]Yeah!! [yeah]

Don't sweat the carrier build, Kenny.  Personally, I always felt
bad that you found yourself in a position to have to rush such
a large build.  Something like that would take me YEARS.  If I
were you, I wouldn't keep working that hard to get it done: just
work on it at your own pace from this point forward.  Take the
time to do her justice.  To me, finishing a GB is certainly desirable,
but it's not mandatory by any means.  This is a hobby and it's
meant to be fun.  No need to break your neck to please us!
Thanks for the best GB i've ever known.

This is indeed a happy and sad occasion.  Sad because we will see the original IMS post drop from page 1 to page 2 and... further into the depths of forum oblivion. Sad [:(] And yet happy... we are going to see a great new year and see the redux string well beyond 100 pages.  We have got some really cool stuff to build this year and although this string has seemed like home I guess it's time to move on and Redux. Smile [:)]

Enough of that sappy stuff Big Smile [:D]

Happy New Year IMS'ers

Thanks bear

well it looks like i will be getting the bad leader award i was told by the wife to shut it down but i will be sneaking back down now and then . the deck is almost all done.

i regret to say there will be one flaw more noticable to ship modelers and now me cause i know but i cant paint the non slip surface cause i wont be able to get all of them done huge mistake but for my first ever ship not too bad.

sorry to disappoint you guys but it will be done by the weekend since i will be a little past the finish date i may go get the second set of planes i have to see the deck may look alittle over crowded.

all the lifeboats are painted decals were going on until the cease and desist order came along.

i will try to get some more pics up tonight as to where i am at least i know i have all day tomorrow to try to finish up since we do not go out for new years.

Happy New Year to all of the great friends i made here and to your families i hope the coming year is a prosperous one to you all !!

was gonna go to the lhs to pick up set 2 for the fligt wing today but no time for that.

and i made a mistake i may not be able to paint the non skid surface on the platforms cause it will mess up the paint job but we shall see how that goes i am gonna give it a shot
