My awesome wife jumped at the chance to join! She wants to build an AH-64 Apache. We havn't decided on scale yet,but it's narrowed down to either 1/35 or 1/32.

I think I am going to try to talk her into setting up her own screen name so that she will be totally on her own with this GB.Are you ladies going to post pics of your smiling faces? Just curious....

This was an outstanding idea Cassibill...... and you should be commended for it.Thumbs Up [tup]  And I strongly urge the FSM moderators to keep an eye on this topic, for a possible publication in the magazine, just to show people that this is a hobby that can be enjoyed by everyone. Not just 'the guys'.If it's published this could spur other women to decide to build instead of letting their husbands/boyfriends/dads have all the fun! It's just my $.02 though......

I agree, this is a FABULOUS idea, I hate taking your space to say this, but hopefully it will really open up the fun to everyone!   wow that rhymed, I'm a poet and didn't even think about it!   But seriosuly it erally should be written about in the mag!

Check out my avatar.  That's me, hubby and grandson.  PinkChevelle has her photo in her avatar also.  I am not sure about cassibill.  I don't think the feline is doing the posting, so maybe that's her in the background.

Besides, you are supposed to be looking at pictures of models, not women.

Outstanding.  Welcome to the GB.  I think that makes 7 entrants now, unless cassibill is hiding a name or two someplace.

I have my F-84 about 75% assembled.  The cockpit, aka box office, is practically non-existent and I wouldn't know where to start to build my own.  It has a lot of raised panel lines that seem awfully large for the scale, but if they were any smaller, you wouldn't be able to see them.  I'll have to get hubby to take some pictures and see if I can post them.

Wow, I've been busy trying to get readyto head back to campus and filling the un-needed portholes on the Hiddensee.  At least the keel seam is gone.

Is this really worthy of that much attention?? I'm still surprised by the response.

Welcome to the GB, ladies. Glad you joined our meager GB.

Yeah that is me holding Cassidy William.  When the Hiddensee starts gathering steam, I'll try for pics.

Samantha, very nice choice. I have a small, but growing collection of 1/48 demonstration team kits and that very kit is on my wishlist.  You'll have to keep us updated on how it goes.

Nice engine.

I think I would like to join you ladies in this group build. My biggest problem is I am not sure which one I want to build. I have two to choose from. I have a '56 Chevy Del Ray and a P-51D Mustang. Oh No!!!! I think my husband just came in with another one to choose from. I'll get back to ya all.

I personally would pick the chevy, but that is because I prefer cars to planes.

...And I'd go for the plane since I'm not much for cars!  We're glad to have you either way!  I'll add you with a "to be decided" and update when you choose.

Dan,

Yes, hubby has been a member of this forum for several years.  I'll let you guess which one is guilty.  He has been been building plastic models since he was a wee lad of a leprechaun.  I just built my first plastic model last fall.

Fantastic choice there, Miss Sam.  I built a 1/48 Mig-15 last fall for my first airplane model.  Welcome to the Group Build and to the world of modeling.

Sam looks like a great choice. (your quite a cutie too!) I like the looks of Fagot, the older planes appeal to me. Good luck.

AAAUUUUGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he came in with about 5 different models. one i really liked was the P47D Thunderbolt Razorback. However I have choosen to go with (pinkchevelle you'll be happy) the Chevy DelRay. I have it all primered and I put the first coat of paint on it today. I am going with Blue metal flake with a cream interior. Hope it does not look to goofy. I will try to get some pictures on soon.

I used to build models with my brothers when I was little. We only did cars and boy where they different back then. We hand painted everything and there was no where near as many parts then either. I can't wait to finsih one and show my oldest brother. I think he will be very surprised.

Anyway for you cassibill I will be doing the Razorback next. I hope.
