Gentlemen a drum roll please......

The winner is RICK!!!!

Yes it's the Trumpy FGA.Mk.6 Seahawk along with the new and very nifty Eduard self adhesive PE set.  I'll be posting some more pics in the next couple of days, but as Alain can attest to the clam shell design of the front portion of the fuselage requires you to have a great deal of the kit done before you seal it up.

Rick great looking Wyvern... I must admit that one of my favourite stages of building an aircraft model is when the decals go on, it really brings the kit to life.

Ooops forgot to say a bit congrats to Roy, I'm glad things are starting to look up for you and your family.

Thanks Darren, had a hunch it was the Seahawk.  I'm curious about the new self adhesive PE sets.  Haven't tried any yet, but I'd like to get your take on them.

Rick, I like the lines of the aircraft, very cool.

Frank, PM replied.

Wii Master, PM replied.

Nam & Wii Master, thanks for the kind words.

Again the family and I want to thank all of you for your kind words and support.  Frank knows how much I miss Wyoming.  The funny thing is, Iam from Florida.  Did not move to Wyoming until I was a senior in high school. Now I just love the cold, snow, mountains and wide open spacesCowboy [C):-)]

Gentlemen I have a confession to make, I have been very bad.

Not that my stash isn't large enough already but I have just pre-ordered from Great Models the Eduard F6F-3 Hellcat and too add to my evilness I've also picked up the Hobbyboss FJ-4B Fury from Hobbyeasy in Hong Kong Blush [:I].

I've got to tell you I'm a real sucker for these Eduard aircraft kits, they are simply stunning in what they provide and the Fury I just couldn't turn down, not for $20 plus change.

Rick the new self adhesive Eduard sets are great and a lot easier to work with now that you don't need CA.  Not all of the parts (on my set) had adhesive just the larger ones like instrument panels and so on.  Smaller things such as harness buckles relied on the old method of gluing down.

I know what you mean, I almost broke the frount landing gear off a few times since it had to be glued in when you close the front portion.

That's OK Darren, we understand.  I made a New Year's Resolution to seriously curb my kit buying habits.  I did very well last month, only buying one.  Now, I am trying to make it through this month without buying any.  Wish me luck! Big Smile [:D]

Great news my friends, my wife accepted a job in Wyoming; we have to be there by the 25 of February.  How many of you guys can come help pack the truck?  We will supply all the food and drink (rum).  Bad news is that my building will be on hold for the next few weeks.

I want to thank you guys for the support you have shown me and my family.  Even though we have not met face to face I do consider you guys my friends.

Fantastic news Roy! Wish I could be there to lend you a hand with all that packing. Let us know when you are all sorted. We can have a house warming in our bar!Pirate [oX)]Make a Toast [#toast]

Quick workbench update:

I've started messing with the 1/32 Seafire Ib..........its an old kit, flash everywhere. So it will take a little work, on top of this I decided to spruce up the office with some Eduard P/E. Its designed for Hasegawa's Mk.V kit so I'm having a few fit problems here and there.

I have nearly finished fitting everything now, when I'm done I will take some pics to show you how it looks.

Having made similar resolutions for this year I too have fallen off the band wagon.  My LHS that rarely ever brings in new stock got a new shipment and I just had to buy the 1/72 Revell Germany Fw 200 Condor.  Sweet!

Lads,

my next FAA build has begun! This is the somewhat modified office of Revells 1/32 Seafire Ib. I have used Eduards P/E set that was designed for the Hasegawa kit. Anyway, some P/E and wire and it looks a bit busier now. I've put a spray of interior green over everything and I'll do some detail painting tomorrow.

Here is how it all looked after the glue started to dry.....

Daz great looking work on the Seafire front office Thumbs Up [tup]  Btw are you going to prime the seat and other bits before you paint them?

I must admit that I was also very tempted by that GR.Mk.7 Op Telic Harrier.  The killer for me was the facts that I'd end up replacing most of the cockpit as usual as well as having to buy a weapons load to hang off it Dead [xx(].

Also I hope you took note that my recent purchases are all USN/USMC aircraft Wink [;)]

Sign - Off Topic!! [#offtopic] I've just finished reading the excellent book 3 Para by Patrick Bishop which is all about the regiment's deployment to Afghanistan in 2006.  If you haven't read this I can highly recommend it.

Cheers

Thanks Darren.Thumbs Up [tup]

I have put a primer coat over the seat and other bits, it'll make it look a bit smoother once I add all the detail paints.

I just had to get that GR.7, I have great things planned for that build-I just need to get my mitts on a targeting pod!Mischief [:-,]

Glad to see your recent USN/USMC aquisitions......which will be on the deck first?

Talk about a small world...I just bought 3 Para today, looking forward to reading it. have you read Vulcan 607? Its a cracker of a read.Thumbs Up [tup]

I'll have to keep an eye out for Vulcan 607, I've just done a Google on it and it looks like a great read.

Btw, while you're reading 3 Para jump onto You Tube and search on 3 Para Afghanistan and you will be able to watch videos of some of the events described in the book.

First cab off the rank will be the FJ-4B Fury.

Daz, what you are going to need for your Gr.Mk.7 is a correct Mk. 12 ejection seat, available from Aeroclub or AMRAAM Line. Also, AMRAAM makes some update sets which might help arm your GR Mk. 7. Set 48-003 includes two CPU-123 1000lb LGBs and two BOL rails (handy for Operation Telic birds as commonly four were carried). Set 48-004 has a TILAD pod; although you'll have to come up with the adapter pylon on your own. Set 48-005 has a couple of correctly sized 300 gal fuel tanks.
