Ouch Frank! That reminds me of the time I was taking off some masking tape and it stuck just enough to pull a brand new hobby knife off the table and straight down into my bare foot.  I mosel in steel toed boots now. Laugh [(-D] Seriously though you just recovered from he drill bit in the thumb so that has to add some insult to the injury. Well It will be sore but let it heal and not get infected. Use those right index fingers for everything just about.  Heal quick my friend. Hope your livelyhood is not impacted for long!

Nam the offer on the pics still stands. As I said Photobucket is doing the same to me but I have no issue coping and pasting stuff. Speakingof which been doing a little index finger work myself today on personal crew things on the halftrack.

Won't go into a long winded explaination of what everything is but I am proud of the loaf of bread and scratched tincan rations and opener. All 1/35 but tiny stuff. Cant really get a good zoom in with the camera but the small detail work is maddening but fun in an odd way when you get what you want.

Roy I keep all my paints organized by colors in scrap book store chest that look like large tackleboxes but have closable plastic drawers. Very portable when you moved a lot by when.

I was talking with Frank the other day about how we keep track of our kits, then paints.  I was wondering, do any of you have a system or just put the paints on a shelf?

I have all mine in an excel spreadsheet listed by; Brand, Color, Stock#(company number), Military# (RLM,RAL, ANA, etc.), FS Equivalent, Type (enamel/Acrylic), Recommended Thinner, Alt. Thinner, Thinner Ratio, Notes

I have a lot of the entries hyperlinked to websites.  Clicking on the FS will open the FS website to that color.  Clink on ANA, RLM, or RAL numbers will bring you to other pages that have color, paint info for that number, for example, different camouflage colors and schemes for Spitfires.

I like to keep track of my paintBig Smile [:D]  Plus I can always check the spreadsheet to see if I have that color for that build.  I have set my kits, decals, and after market stuff in spreadsheets.

You're gonna laff, but I don't care. Usually when I build a model I buy the paint I need for it, because my interests swing widely, my time frame to build one is anywhere from 6 mo.s to years, and I like fresh paint.

So, when I start a kit, I get all the paints and put them in a gallon ziplock freezer bag that I label with a sharpie: "AN-12", or"USS San Francisco". It really works great, and if I build two models in fairly quick succession with common paints, I know where to look.

I keep all the blacks, silvers, whites etc. on a tray. All the rattle cans on a shelf, and thats it.

Wow Roy! I can now understand why you are a slow builder! You are too busy!Laugh [(-D] I have no such excuse!

I use IPMS Stockholm as a ref.....most all else I am very analog. I keep my paint on a slanted and divided shelf according to mfr and primary vs. 'other' colors

My stash of 20-odd kits is arranged on a four tiered shelf....no need for a spreadsheet. But I've seen some of the hobbyshop inventories you guys keep!

I use them to help set mine upBig Smile [:D]  Along with other sites.  I have hyperlinks to their aircraft color ref.  Remember I only crossref. the paints in my inventory.

You do know about IPMS Stockholm right?  It has lots of cross referencing for paints.

It's still got room for improvement.  I want to be able to cross reference the colors with other brands of the same color, Tamiya to Model Master, to Humbrol and so forth.

Wow Roy, I don't know what to say to that.  I've put my kits into a spread sheet so that I can keep track of how many I complete vs. build each year (it's a losing battle I know Wink [;)]) but I've never though of doing that with my paint Shock [:O]

Thanks guys! Big Smile [:D]

Thanks, Frank! I missed it- there's sort of a lot of um, traffic in this forum. I'll give it a try- I'm painting both the circles and the civil codes on my Mavis, hopefully this weekend.

Big weekend. Little Miss Bondo has opening night in her school drama production of Anne Frank- she's Peter's mother. She has to play a kvetchie old lady.

Tomorrow- THE BIG GAME. Ms. Bondo wears the Blue and Gold- yours truly the Cardinal. Games at Cal this year, all day affair. I'm driving so I'll be careful, I promise.

Aaron what I wouldn't give to be in the rack with the alarm set for 3 pm right now, but of course I didn't spend last night slamming box cars around the back side of Galveston. Sleep peacefully, friend.

Oh, and Rum call tonoght is after the play for me, and I wouldn't want a hangover tomorrow at the Game. oh no.... but I'll check by at the midnight watch.

Avast, ye lubbery scum dog lice ridden goats.

Bondo your suppossed to put milk in your Cheerios not Patron! Censored [censored]

Frank. what do you use for masking material? The fact that he ask twice would seem to be refering to a sort of facial mask a oppossed to the Tamiya tape. Perhaps a mud and cucumber juice paste? Hear it is great for dulling those optivisor creases. Black Eye [B)]

I am too sleepy for a proper role call so forgive me for not being able to address everyone. But be assured I would like nothing more than to give each of you a big hug.
