LOL!  I always know where to find him!  Frank has to have 2 of the same kit before he will build one.  Superstitious!

He got 3 of them? LOL guess that is one way to go in case you lose a part. I have no room to talk believe me. My wife says at least she has piece of mind knowing all I'm looking for is a hobby store. But you see her signature up there. She is Dee.

My spit needs work.  I have had a lot of family issues and it takes most of my free time.  I was in Chicago when you came to visit.  I am sorry I missed you and your family.  Would have been hard because the people we work with don't know we are dating.  I am not a part of the FAA/Navy GB I just drop in and check on you all, so I don't think I am qualified for the gift exchange.

Don't tell him, but I have it on now.  He went to one yesterday.  It was the first thing he looked for.  It's hopeless!  He left on Thursday and I had to stop by his place and grab the 3 PBY's that the UPS guy left on his step.  He said he didn't buy anything...yet

I know this is from another GB but how is you Spitfire doing?  I'm needing to spray some buff to blend in the colors on mine.

Except hopefully kids leave when they get old. I hear too many stories about dogs eating parts. Makes me wonder what they go through to retrieve them. I think Nam has a technique down pact for that. Wonder what kinda dog? Seems each breed has it's own way of making life wonderful.  My wife saved one and it is still here.

Daren said something about a new dog.  You know how that can be, like having a new kid.

Thanks Roy! That is a fine gesture. Haven't seen much o the crew. Lewbud and Razor must be building hard and true! Sent out the troops looking for Frank and Darren...... Busy with work huh? Company over? I think it sounds like a plot! Using the latest intelligence gathering techniques... ( Hacked a Predator) I have found signs of them. Their excuse is when they are finished that Desert Rat can use the bottle for a new Apartment.  Geeze always thinking of others those two.Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

The mailing list is in a label format, excel if you want that instead.  You will need to PM me and if you could give me your home email I will send you the list, it's easier to send it that way for me.  So far no one has objected to having thier address sent out to the groupMake a Toast [#toast]  After all it's nice to get Christmas cards that time of the year.

The Hooters shot was an epiphany for me! Always wondered what they might look like floating on their backs!

Nam's PC works well other than uploading pics....putting it in the the shop weekend of 17th while I'm at SYRCON21...and hopefully get that fixed.

I talked to Frank over a week ago, things are busy at his work.  I got a PM from Darren who has had friends over and busy with work also.

BTW both Frank and Darren have signed up for the Christmas exchange.  If any of you still want a master mailing list for cards let me know (PM)

I'm sitting here drinking a wheat beer and reporting that at this time we have 10 people signed up for our Christmas exchange.  This weekend I'm going to Don's hobby store in Greely Co. All I have in Cheyenne is a Hobby Lobby.  Looking for some ideas for my gift exchange.  Any excuse to visit a hobby store is always goodWink [;)]  I also need to pick up some Tamaya buff and smoke.  I was told that a light mist of this will help blend the colors of my Stipfire.  Plus I need to get a tripod for the camera.

For my FAA Corsair I opened up the shell ports under the wings and removed the rear control surfaces.  I will try and get picks of my progress.

Roger, Roy and Aaron,

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement.  Aaron, the F7F had only two ugly seams that weren't caused by me and they were the on the underside of the wing where it met the fuselage.  The ugly one on the nose was my fault as I didn't allow enough room when filling each half with BB's.  It is a simple kit, and will fill its spot in my Grumman Cat collection nicely.

No Roy, those pics were taken shortly after I assembled the thing from the parts I made.

The fan is now attached to the top and vented thru a 6" pipe thru the window in the picture. I fabricated a channeled filter rack and stuck on a 6" flapper vent hood outside.

There is also a new hole in each side to accomodate a couple UV filtered lights and also an LED light bar inside the roof of the cabinet. I have been painting on on large opened pizza boxes to keep overspray off the metal as the reflectivity really enhances the light.

My PC is blocking me from uploading recent pics.......(going into the shop again!) But I'll post some when fixed.

Materials for the booth were about $40.....3 hours of my time.....fan was $95 wholesale....pipe was scrap from our work....vent hood about $7......all lights for under $30.

I don't have any John or they'd be yours.  However, rather than looking for a specific F4F aftermarket sheet you can order a sheet of operation torch roundels.  Great models has a sheet of Yellow Wings (sheet #YWD72025) in stock and on sale and I'm sure you can find the same or similar sheets elsewhere.  As the US navy aircraft usually had little else for markings I'm sure you can scrounge the rest from your spares.

EDIT:  looks like Buddy beat me to it!  Smile [:)]

John,

Yellow Wings Decal National Insignia #4 decal sheet has the appropriate decals.  Individual aircraft numbers will have to be scrounged.  Squadron has it as should the usual mail order suspects, you can also order direct from Yellow Wings.
