Yep! Roswell! No, it wasn't an imposter. But the lady at the check out counter was kinda funny looking- greenish grey skin, no hair, tall and thin with black almond shaped eyes, no nose and a really small mouth. Somehow I got a feeling she was from out of the county, but who am I to judge...Wink [;)]

Roger

That is a good deal! And a great kit! Did you say Roswell? Alien [alien] Are you sure it's a real model and not an alien imposter?

Gotta share another example of how things going right for me these days!Cool [8D]

Earlier today I was in Roswell checking out the Hobby Lobby again kinda following Darrens suggestion a few weeks ago. I went in there not really planning on buying anything (no, really! Stop laughing!) I'd taken a look at the clearance rack, and there it was. AMs SBD-3 from the Battle Of Midway in 1/48 scale! Now I'm sure this is pretty much a staple in alotta LHS'es. But since the Monogram SBD I had started for the FAA GB went down in flames like it did, I knew I had to replace it. And with the kit marked down clearance to $10.99, there was no way I was gonna pass it up! Now I just need to wait until I get my tools and bench back and settled in. But I'm happy I got another chance at the Dauntless ahead of me!Cool [8D]

Ya know, it's the little things in life I really appreciate......Propeller [8-]

Warmest regards,

Roger

Man that is simply dreadful! Cuz if there are issues with it then my builds are poo-doo! That thing looks right out of newsreel from the 1980's.

Now since we actually have a completed build on the screen lets get on with that liberty!

Well Darren, they say that you are your own worst critic. So with that being said, I'm gonna say that maybe you have been drinking a little bit too much. Cause it looks perfect to me!Cool [8D]

It's an awesome build there too! Going to American schools, the Falkland War is not something that is common knowledge. In fact, I would say that if you asked around here, most wouldn't even know what you were talking about, nevermind tell you anything that happened. But as a helicopter guy here, it's definately something I really appreciate. Thanks, Darren!

Hello Chaps!

Just a flying visit from me as I've been in out with some old mates and I'm almost too drunk to type.........

Finished this one yesterday, 1/72 Italeri FAA HA.3 Westland Wessex. This one was based aboard HMS Antrim during the Falklands War and is affectionately known as "Humphery" Most famous for its rescue mission of coming to the aid of SAS troops  during the conflict.

It didn't turn out as well as I would have liked-there are some dreadful build mistakes in there and I messed up the decals as well, so this was a "best I could do" exercise.....

Regards, Darren. C.A.G. FAA/USNFAW GB

Good question though Aaron. The overall record was fine, but not as good as Tampa or Boston. Too many key injuries, too many underachievers etc etc. It was a struggle all year.

Houston made a good run at it but got screwed by Ike! Too bad!
