Now hear this, All matelots not at their stations muster to the mess.  There's some strange things happening and all hands are needed to deal with the scurvy Curr responsible. I'll let the pictures condemn the infernal powdermonkey.

And methinks should he swing from the nearest submarine's yardarm for this, Tis tantamount to witchcraft.

I have sorted the decal on the wing that is out of place and the Sealightning is still missing it's landing light and a couple of other little bits but thats the state of play at the moment. The bit of weirdness underneath it comes form a modeler who is bored and has too many P38's to play with,

All the best

Hi All!

Yes I have that Roden kit.

For 1/48.....it is a tiny and delicate Sea Glad......more flash than we are used to, but not unsurmountable. I traded away a Swordfish because I determined that it was over my head after soon getting back into the hobby.

The Sea Glad will get done, but I need to polish a lot of skills to keep from killing it. Cannot compare it to Airfix kits, though it sounds right.

Aye, Sir be that the case then once again I change me' course, more times than a Spanish brig in a gale! The Seafire, whilst a prettier bird as ever there was, may need to wait on account of it's really expensive, and this was declared Chez Bondo "the year of the stash" so I'm in with either the Whitley, or a Sunderland both in Coastal command colors.

Have you seen the planned releases for 2009? It's going to be a bad year to thin out stashes.

Aaron W, That helicopter is almost there! Looks the biz with the rotor blades now!  Those are a pain with one set to get to look right and youv'e done it with two! I have seen fellows lay them inside of dinner plates and tape the edges to the plate just to keep the shape as they dry.  Yours are looking just right!

The color is dark. Maybe the camera but is it a dark scheme? Are you basing the markings off a particular bird and era?

I got lucky with the rotors, the perfect height just happend to match the thickness of the metal squares I have on my bench for cutting styrene. The two squares made a perfect jig.

It is a dark blue scheme and the pic is a bit dark as well. I'm just going OOB with the decals on this one. I have two more of these kits and may get more creative whenever I decide to do those, lots of improvements I now know I could do to make it go smoother.

Those are the oddest P-38 models I have ever seen! Very intense kitbashing and scratching.  That twin looks reaaly wicked!  The Sea P-38 is a really cool concept too!  Well done! Very imaginative!

Nam! Hope you are typing from the new home! Do you have a place for your bench or are you regulated to a table like me now? Been piddling with computers all day!  Not much fun but keeps the family on the internet! Different world we live in now!

Greg- I love that P-38!  Very cool stuff, love those "what-ifs".

Thank you very much for your leniency CAG!   IIRC, the Merchant Navy was a group tasked with protecting the supply ships.  Believe they had small carriers, and the Swordfish was an aircraft they used.  The Tamiya Mk.II has a set of decals for one of these, thought it might be fun to try something a little different. Thumbs Up [tup]

Greg - Man, those builds are Fantastic. I saw them a while back early on in the works and was quite impressed.  It takes real talent and imagination to turn out models like that. Bow [bow]

And what is this I read about Aaron working on a secret project ? Oooooh sounds mysterious. Well I happen to be working on a Top Secret project also that I am pretty sure will rate in the "not so modeled aircraft" least on this forum.  All I will tell you is it will have RAF markings...Wink [;)]

Begging your pardon, Sir CAG. Seems to be you're soft on the men, oh no not in that way, but the rules have been liberalized. I would aver that's a good thing, if you'll be acceptin' a hint from the wardroom. Might be that a Coastal Command wing o' the GB could be recognized, same as the Merchant Marine could be too, and there we go with a new variation on a familiar theme.

In that vein, I'd go back to plan A, and beggin yer pardon, Archbishop, the Seafire be a mighty beast but Holy Heck, 25 of the Queens own for a 1/72 little beasty?, none the less when my ship come in; but inna meantime the Whitley beckons. As she's on the roll of the FAW which your Eminence so kindly suggested, yet the colors elude me, might it be a fine enough subject for the GB in CC livery?. Otherwise it's the Southerlin in ma stash, an' ow gawd not anither flyin boat just yet?!

Your humble officer, LtCmr BillyBondo FAW

Cheers for the feedback guys. nice one. I don't know so much about my talent, I'm an average modeler at best, as for imagination being slightly insane helps Big Smile [:D] . Digging through the stash for something else to play with.

All the best

Cheers Dave. The Twin P38 is soemthing I hav been messing with on and off for a couple of years now. every now and again I'll dig it out and do a bit more, I have no real plan that I am working from either and as for a role for this bird I still havn't a clue, maybe long range nightfighter? or pathfinder? or recon?. The only thing I do know is the outer engines will retain their opposing props and the center one will have a contra prop to avoid torque problems. sugegstions on a $50 bill to my home address Big Smile [:D] . I'm resurecting another what if I started some time back. lets just say it has 1/144th and 1/72 bits on both civvie and military and it's going to be a NASA bird.

Ah Sean hopefully by Monday night I will be starting on several plans. Iactually have overestimated my available time but I have been considering a schedule of something like yours.  I do have some specific plans for FAA Aircraft in the very near future! The CAG must be appeased!

Hello everyone!

Well, I am still pretty new (or at least coming back to after a verrrry long hiatus) to scale modeling again I have not joined any Group Builds.  But this is too good to pass up since I just cracked the cellophane on a new kit that would fit perfectly for this build.  So if y'all don't mind I would like to participate.  The subject I have just started on, quite literally just yesterday, is a 1/48 Tamiya F4F Wildcat.  I plan on doing her up in the VMF-223 (Marines) color/decal scheme.  I am quite impressed by this kit and can't wait to get cracking (as of right now I have only cut half parts off the trees and sanding of said parts).
