Nam,

I guess I is a cheesehead since I live in WI!  I'm not a football fan either, so I really don't follow the games.

As for your bench top, what about a piece of countertop?  Pretty strong and resistant surface to be sure.

Darren- Can you add another aircraft to my list for me?  I am going to build a 1/48 Monogram PBY-5A Catalina, though I don't have one yet.  My girlfriend knows how much I want one, so she told me tonight to go get one and she would pay for it.  Is she awesome, or what? Big Smile [:D]

Yep Roy.....snow can be a big nostalgic motivator for those that are used to it.

Frankie sympathizes, I'm sure! I'm watching the Giants/CowGirls......not a big NFL guy.....but sister who is....will be calling to see if I watched.....

Now Frank.....is you is....or is you ain't a cheesehead? Giants may meet the Packers! 21-17 Giants right now. 4th

I am trying to add a model related comment to each post....I may contact Gerry about his paint....the P-35 isn't a big deal.....but going to build a lot of yellow-wings needing 'NMF looks'.

Does anyone recommend my laying down perhaps a piece of plexi or regular glass on my new benchtop as a work surface? I spent for the best 'chipboard' stuff but I know I'm gonna kill it with knives.

Model question (really?) Has anyone tried Gerry HawkeyeHobbies NMF paint?

YIKES!!!  I'd start packing and move south if I were you.  As for the Hawkeyes Talon series NMF acrylic paint, I bought some from Gerald a month or so ago but haven't tried it yet.

At least you have the snowblower!

I have a buddy that plows my drive....but I have to shovel the deck and front walks....eh! so what? I don't mind the snow....I just hate the cold!

Just now.....NWS has revised snowfall from 4 to 20 inches! What the heck is that? Lower the minimum and raise the maximum???

It'll probably rain!

Yikes!  Between 6 and 18 inches?  If I were you, I'd move.  If I even MENTIONED that much snow in front of my snowblower, it would probably leave and ne'er return. Laugh [(-D]

Well guys! Having a comfy Sunday(despite snow removal)? Here in CT we have a winter storm warning  going on......anywhere from 6-18 inches forecast now. Not the same storm as Frank's....a 'classic' nor'easter they are saying.

I have my Sev P-35 'practice model' ready for final paint, and am practicing on scrap junk for a NMF. There are many pics that I need to collate in case anyone wants to see them down the road. Cockpits and motors are a blast! I love cockpits and motors. (just want to reserve pics until final paint is done, this being my first real kit build in 20 years)

As mentioned, I finished the workbench! No WIP pics....but will shoot some after I move some things about and hang a couple shelves and 'stock' them!

Paint booth should be done Wednesday night so I can paint the P-35 properly (I've been busy with 'side jobs' to fund my modeling)

Yeah, yeah....long winded Nam! My FAA Sea Glad is in initial stages (can't wait to transfer it downstairs and get serious!) There will be WIP pics for that......I'm sure I'll learn a lot....and not afraid to.

FAW project (TBD)....since I have much time, going to build a yellow-wing for skill sharpening and then devote much love to a Tex Gay TBD with PE stuff.

Shovels, salt and sand at the ready. Bring it on!

Ruddrat......miss you already!

Darran....nice work on the logo!

Personally.....once I 'finish' getting my workbench in order today (I hope), and stop building things on my bed(!).....I'm afraid I won't get to hang out at FSM as often! Workspace is in the basement.....(sigh) PC, alas, is not.

I really envy those modelers here that show pics of a workstation.....with a PC in the same room!

Cost of Hobby UPDATE!: Since approx. November 1st, 2007 my total financial outlay in order to get back into this hobby.....$762.35.....stash kits, paints and other supplies, tools, workbench and spray booth.

Hmmm.....not that bad when I check the inventory!

Yes Frank, I put Barney back in the sig picture....he's cuter, and I love his SG radar ear deployed like that!
